Did your Medicare Advantage plan get discontinued for 2026? You are not alone.
Research published in JAMA found that nearly 2.9 million Medicare Advantage enrollees nationwide had their plans discontinued this year, a significant increase from prior years. If you were among those affected, it is important to understand that you have options, and that some of those options come with time-sensitive deadlines.
Depending on your situation, you may be able to enroll in a new Medicare Advantage plan, return to Original Medicare, or purchase a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy. If your plan was discontinued, you may also have guaranteed issue rights that allow you to purchase certain Medigap policies without medical underwriting, but those rights apply within a specific window defined by federal law.
Navigating these choices on your own can feel overwhelming. That is what we are here for. Our team can walk you through your options, help you compare plans, and make sure you understand the deadlines that apply to your situation. đź“‹
🚨 One of the biggest Medicare mistakes I see?
Missing your Initial Enrollment Period.
Many people assume Medicare enrollment happens automatically, or they think they can sign up whenever they’re ready. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case.
Missing your enrollment window could mean:
❌ Late enrollment penalties
❌ Gaps in coverage
❌ Higher costs for years to come
The good news? It’s completely avoidable when you know your timeline.
If you’re turning 65 soon—or helping a parent, spouse, or friend navigate Medicare—don’t wait until the last minute.
Comment “MEDICARE” below, and I’ll send you information on the enrollment timelines you need to know.

❓What is a frequency limitation?
A frequency limitation, sometimes called a type of annual limit, is a rule in health, dental, or vision insurance that restricts how often a specific service is covered—usually once within a set time period, like once per calendar year or once every 12 months.
🦷 Example: If your dental plan covers one cleaning every 6 months, that’s a frequency limitation.
Some plans require you to wait the full time period before receiving the service again, while others allow you to receive it once within that time frame, regardless of the exact date.
🚦 Example: One plan may require exactly 365 days between annual checkups, while another allows one per calendar year (e.g., Jan–Dec), even if appointments are just months apart.

🧠June is Alzheimer's & Brain Health Awareness Month
Alzheimer’s affects more than 7 million Americans, and Medicare gives you some good tools to support it.
âś… Your yearly Medicare "Wellness" visit includes a no-cost cognitive check-in to screen for early signs of memory or cognitive issues. âś… If your provider notices anything, Medicare also covers a separate, more in-depth cognitive care planning visit. âś… Caregivers are welcome to attend these visits, ask questions, and help build a care plan together.
There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, but early diagnosis can open the door to better treatment and support options. So don’t put it off. 💛 This June, consider scheduling your wellness visit and starting an open conversation with your loved ones about brain health.

🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
Many students are putting on caps and gowns this month and receiving those hard-earned diplomas. Graduation is the start of new opportunities, big goals, and important life decisions. As you or your family members step into this next chapter, it’s a great time to think about building a strong foundation for your future.
Time for the real "adulting" to begin... to start earning and protecting what you've earned. To plan for what’s ahead. As any graduate already knows, small steps over time add up to big life changes.
Wishing all graduates success, confidence, and a bright future! đź’™

❓What is a Premium?
A premium is the monthly payment you make to Medicare, an insurance company, or a health plan to keep your health or prescription drug coverage active.
Think of it like a subscription—just like Netflix, but for your healthcare!
Even if you don’t use your benefits every month, keeping up with your premium ensures your coverage is there when you do need it.

❓What is a Deductible?
A deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket for health care or prescriptions before your Medicare plan or other insurance plan starts to pay its share.
For example: If your plan has a $500 deductible, you’ll need to cover $500 in approved medical costs first—then your coverage kicks in. After that $500 deductible is met, you may share costs with your insurance provider via copayments.
Understanding your deductible helps you plan better and avoid surprises! Need help reviewing your insurance plan or benefits? Let’s chat. 📞

Spring is the perfect time to enjoy ingredients that only show up for a short window—and green garlic is one of them. 🌿 If you’ve never cooked with it before, think of it as a milder, slightly sweeter version of regular garlic that adds incredible depth without overpowering a dish.
This Green Garlic & Potato Soup is simple, comforting, and perfect for those in-between spring days when you want something warm but not too heavy.
Ingredients:
2–3 stalks green garlic (chopped)
1 leek (cleaned and sliced)
3–4 Yukon gold potatoes (peeled and diced)
4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional: fresh herbs (parsley or chives)
Directions:
Heat olive oil or butter in a pot over medium heat.
Add green garlic and leek; sauté until soft and fragrant.
Add potatoes and broth; bring to a boil, then simmer 15–20 minutes until tender.
Blend until smooth (or leave slightly chunky if preferred).
Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
Serve with crusty bread and a drizzle of olive oil for a simple, seasonal meal. 🍲
