Eugene Springfield SRTS is a community approach to encourage and enable more people to walk, bike, roll, skate, scoot, bus or carpool to school safely.

The Eugene Springfield Safe Routes to School mission is to serve a diverse community of parents, students, and organizations: advocating for and promoting the use of active and shared transportation to and from schools throughout the Eugene Springfield area.

We largely focus publicly on sharing the joy of and skills for active and shared travel. But behind the scenes, SRTS works with local governments and nonprofits as well as community members to play our part in moving our communities towards improved safety. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and serious injuries taking place on our streets and look forward to a future where it's safer for everyone in our communities to move freely.

Be aware of flooded shared use paths, and for those people driving, expect to see people biking and walking where you wouldn't normally find them.

Stopping for pedestrians saves lives—but only if everyone stops. Watch and share to learn about multiple-threat crashes and help keep our community members safer.

Please share your thoughts on Polk Street bike lanes!

🚲 Help Shape the Future of Polk Street!

The City of Eugene is exploring adding bike lanes to Polk Street, a key connection between the Whiteaker and Friendly neighborhoods. We want your input!

Polk Street is a popular route for biking, but without dedicated bike lanes, it can feel unsafe. Adding bike lanes would improve safety for everyone, but it could mean changes like removing on-street parking.

Your voice matters! Share your feedback, take the survey, and learn more about the project:
