Reducing hunger by engaging
our community to create access to food. Our 36,000 square foot facility on Bailey Hill Rd.

Food for Lane County (FFLC) is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit food bank dedicated to reducing hunger by engaging our community to create access to food. We accomplish this by soliciting, collecting, rescuing, growing, preparing, and packaging food for distribution through a 150-member network of human service agencies and programs; through public awareness, education and community advocacy. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income seniors (60+). It provides supplementary, shelf-stable groceries. 30-40 pounds of food, including some fresh vegetables, bread, and cheese, is delivered once a month to the homes of qualifying seniors. Recently, came through our Bailey Hill facility to help pack up some of these boxes. Visit our website to learn more about Senior Grocery and how your organization can volunteer with Food for Lane County.

Financial support from donors like you helps us make large food purchases, that meet a demonstrated need in our community.
This month, we welcomed nearly 40,000 lbs of chicken drumsticks into the freezers at our West Broadway facility. That means that almost 8,000 households will receive a great protein source. Your donations make a difference for thousands of families. Thank you with all our hearts.
PS: And a huge thank you to our team at West Broadway for making quick work of unloading a frozen truckload, breaking down stacks, and getting it into the deep freeze before many of us answered our first email of the day. We're so fortunate to have them by our side!

The Dining Room will reopen to guests on Monday, July 6.

It's the season of plant sales, and Jessica hosted her 7th annual Friendly Neighborhood Veggie Starts fundraiser. This year raised a record-breaking $1,106 to support Food for Lane County, and we're so grateful. What an inspiring example of the actions our community takes to support our neighbors. Well done and happy gardening!

Our Summer Food Program feeds youth ages 18 & younger at over 30 sites five days a week as well as at rural grab & go pick-up locations. That's a lot of food! We have an incredible staff that's up to the challenge, but we lean on volunteers to help us push through the summer months. Morning and afternoon shifts are available, and we would love to see our awesome volunteer community turn out! Visit bit.ly/SFPVols to get started!

Some great news and scheduling announcements this week for the Mobile Pantry.

We're so excited for our first visit to Pleasant Hill on Thursday! We'll be at the Pleasant Hill Community Center every first and third Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. going forward, barring holidays.

Which brings us to our announcement: Due to the observance of Juneteenth, the Pantry stop at the Universalist Unitarian Church in Eugene is cancelled on Friday. With the Independence Day holiday landing on July's first Friday, we'll return to the UUC on July 17th. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you in mid-July!
