May we all have a year filled with life, love and peace.
I often think when I hear on the news about another school shooting, more violence in the streets, the murder of innocent hostages, the kidnapping of journalists and the rampant disregard for human life, what can one person do? So, that's my question. What is one thing I can do today to make a difference? What is one thing each of us can do, Today, to make a difference? Thoughts and prayers are not working. We must do something.

Today I am grateful for the opportunity to change people's lives through our real estate business. Today we closed a sale for a young man who is both a soldier and a police officer and his fiancé. It is their first home and will be a wonderful home for them to grow on together. Team BenStone
Anyone who knows me knows I celebrate by birthday for a whole month. I decided that this year I would celebrate by doing a gratitude list each day of the month of August to recognize the people and things that I am most grateful for. It is a practice I started many years ago with my dear and amazing friend Rita Katz Dennis. I have talked many times about how it changed my life and I still believe it is the single most important thing I could ever do, so here goes.
Today I am grateful for Rita, it was her idea so many years ago that we start sharing five things we are grateful for everyday via email. I thought at the time that it would last a few days or weeks, but it lasted years. It became an automatic part of our day and kept us connected. I found myself seeking things to be grateful for and that's when the change began. Today gratitude is simply a part of my everyday life. I remember once we agreed that it was most important on the days it was hardest. That is still true.
Today I am grateful for Rita and for the gratitude that fills my life.
