🚧 Parking Lot Improvements Coming to Howard Buford Recreation Area/Mount Pisgah
Lane County Parks will begin upgrades to the Arboretum parking lot at Howard Buford Recreation Area this summer. These improvements will create a safer, more accessible experience, including better connections between parking levels.
What work is being done?
• Parking lot reconstruction and paving
• ADA parking
• Stairs between levels
• Expanded drop off zone
What to expect:
• July - October, completion prior to Mushroom Festival
• The lot will remain open, but access will be limited
• Construction activity, noise, and flaggers on site
• Reduced parking and possible congestion
Planning a visit?
If you're heading out for a hike, consider using the North Bottomlands lot or East Trailhead for easier access. We encourage carpooling during this time to allow for more parking availability.
We’re coordinating closely with Mount Pisgah Arboretum to support continued access to their programs and events.
More details and updates will be shared as plans, and construction schedules are finalized. Questions can be directed to Lane County Parks at 541-682-2000

A reminder the Armitage Park Day Use Area and Boat Ramp will be closed on Wednesday, June 24th. Campground and Dog Park will remain open.
Thanks for coming out and celebrating with us! We’re excited about the dog park improvements, and also about opening two-way traffic flow so larger vehicles will no longer need to travel through the dog park parking lot. These improvements reflect community input and are made possible through levy funds.
