The Lazy R Ranch is home to a fold of Scottish Highland Cattle that are raised for breeding and grass finished beef.
Pam and her brother, Steve, started the Highland herd with their father after reading an article in an agricultural magazine. The Highlands are a small breed of cattle, that are known for their long hair and easy going nature. The cattle are raised for beef mostly, and marketed as a low cholesterol and low fat meat. Our cattle are grass fed and finished, we do not use any hormones and use medications sparingly, only when needed.

Spring calves two dun bulls and a red heifer will be ready later this fall for new pastures.
Oldest bull calf born in March, the second was born the first part of April. The red heifer was born the last of April.
