Same Street is going to be the second single from the Evolution of Music Soundtrack- and it might be the best story on the album. The track sprung from our study of jazz and has a mellow jazz horn sample that riffs into an introspective tale of two sides of a street- one turning to the positive influences that can be found and one delving into the abyss of negative choices and the consequences they bring!
The album is available NOW on all streaming platforms- download today at the link in our bio!

The experience is about more than making soundtracks and movies. Using music as our guide, we learned about the cultural impact music had on the Civil Rights Movement and other notable social justice causes. Here is a shot of Thomas taking in the exhibits at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. This was a chance to navigate away from a cleveland to get a larger world view and appreciation of what music has done to shape our culture.

Youth Renaissance is about more than just making music and movies- it’s about experiencing the world first hand. Our students visited Louisvillle, Nashville and Memphis last year so they could learn the impact of Country and Jazz music on our world. What they learned opened their eyes to the contribution Black artists made on all genres of music. Those lessons were used to produce the Evolution of Music Soundtrack and Docuseries.

Expression. Kids love to do it, but they can feel so unheard. COVID Kids gave kids from CMSD a chance to share stories about a common experience so that they didn’t feel alone. The social separation of the Pandemic was hard for many of them to overcome. This project gave them a chance to know that they weren’t alone!
COVID Kids is an exciting new book that highlights the shared struggles of students in the CMSD as they made their way through a pandemic. Their stories show that the danger was so much more than a physical health risk. Their mental health was pushed to the brink as they tried to stay focused on their school work without the socialization that is so vital to their development. This is a landmark book that takes you on a journey through the good, the bad and the disheartening period these children spent as COVID Kids!
Book coming soon- stay tuned!
