It is with great excitement that I get to share a new business collaboration between No More Boring Cakes and Sweet Cheeks Homestead!

After I moved out of my last commercial storefront in 2023 where I taught classes on a monthly basis - I was really missing the teaching aspect of my business. I've looked at more than a dozen locations, but none were the right fit. I didn't lose hope, I just knew the right thing would come along at the right time.

At the beginning of the year when I updated my website, I placed an empty image placeholder for '2026 coming soon cake decorating class location". I did that in anticipation for finding the right place or partnership. Now I get to fill up that placeholder with an actual image and add this new venture to my long 17-year story. I have been incredibly lucky over the years to have great opportunities come to me with little to no effort. As you read my story, this has occurred time and time again. A couple weeks ago, I received a message from Christina Stendall a local cottage food baker (whom I had never met in person) inviting me to collaborate with her in her brand-new commercial storefront to teach classes! We met last week and had a 2.5-hour meeting that went spectacularly well! It's such a beautiful thing when 2 people are on the similar path and are willing to support one another instead of squabble over customers while being in the same industry, etc.

As of July 12th, I will begin teaching fondant cake decorating classes at her beautiful community orientated space on the border of San Marcos/Escondido. I have released the July class information on my website
(https://www.nomoreboringcakes.com/class) and will be releasing the classes that will take place monthly thru the end of the year in the coming days as well.

Classes will be limited to 6 students.

I am truly grateful once again for this invitation and I believe that both of our businesses will grow exponentially as we support one another and be an example to the community of 2 bakery businesses coming together to move each other forward. I am excited to see what fun and innovative ideas unfold in Sweet Cheeks Homestead new space.

We’ll be opening a little later tomorrow while we move a few more pieces of furniture into the shop and finish getting everything settled.

I don’t have an exact opening time yet since I’m at the mercy of my handyman’s schedule, but I’ll post an update as soon as we’re ready to open the doors.
