We took down this Norfolk Island Pine tree in Escondido CA.
If you take a look at this video, the tree looks mighty tall and imposing indeed, but as you can see, with a simple, systematic approach, the tree comes down easy and quite fast.

We pruned back a Jacaranda Tree in Escondido.
We pruned and shaped this Jacaranda tree. If you look at the before pic, you can see it is a little tall, and it doesn't have an attractive shape. By reducing the crown, and shaping it, we can make the tree look much better in front of the house.
Check out our tree shaping page: https://andys-treeservice.com/tree-shaping/, to learn more about it. Also, if you visit this page: https://andys-treeservice.com/tree-trimming/ and go 1/2 way down, you can find a gallery of before and after pics, to see the quality of our trimming work.

We trimmed a Strawberry Tree in Eincinitas CA.
Strawberry trees must be one of the most beautiful trees in our area. The distinctive red bark sets them apart and gives them a special look. I like them too, because they have a nice round shape, and don't grow too massive. This one is bigger than most.
Notice how in the "before trimming" pic, the tree looks rather heavy, overgrown, and congested. This is typical of trees needing a trim. And then notice that after trimming it is lighter, and has a nice round shape.
If you go to https://andys-treeservice.com/tree-trimming/, you can learn about our philosophy of trimming, and why you have to be careful in choosing a company to trim your trees. There is a gallery of before and after pics you will want to see about 1/2 way down.
When you are there, if you want to learn more, at the menu on the top, you can find further pics and analysis on the "Services" tab, such as "Tree Shaping and "Tree Thinning" for example.

We trimmed an Olive Tree in Rancho Bernardo
This Olive Tree had the unfortunate luck to have been topped, or headed back, on a moderate scale in the past. If you look at the "Before Trimming" photo, you can see a bunch of long whips, very skinny. That is the hallmark of a topped tree. They invariably have a bunch of "suckers" that grow back, and so look unnatural, as well as having a host of other problems.
Fortunately, we can often work our magic, even on these kinds of topped trees. You can see that the tree looks pretty good after it has been trimmed.

We made a blog post about this issue with topping and what it does. It's good to read, if you thinking about hiring a tree company. Find it here: https://andys-treeservice.com/tree-trimming-technique/

We trimmed a Magnolia Tree in San Marcos
Click on the pic, and then if you compare the "before" pic to the "after," you can see that we did a whole "crown reduction" as part of trimming this tree.
In other words, the tree was terribly out of shape, and we reduced and trimmed it so it could have a nice look.

Yucca Trees before and after trimming
Yucca trees fall sort into the palm tree family. They can get totally overgrown, and messy looking, just like any tree.
But if yuccas are reduced in size, and thinned out in the right way, they can look quite good in a yard, given the right landscaping.

Trimming a Carrortwood tree in Escondido
You can see that sometimes these trees get to be quite crazy looking. This tree is a good example: way too wild, way too congested.
It takes a talent, fostered over many years, to trim it back correctly, trimming only so much, but not too much.
You may want to go to this page: https://andys-treeservice.com/tree-trimming/ There is a gallery of before and after pics there, about 1/2 way down, that you might like to see.

We trimmed a phoenix palm (lots of people call it a canary palm).
The botanical name is phoenix canariensis. In the video above, I was showing how we would clean the chainsaw with bleach. This is to combat fusarium wilt, which is a bacterial disease.
It costs around $100 to buy a new bar and chain, but we feel it is totally necessary, as the main vector of infection is tools of tree trimmers, that get infected from one tree and carry it to another.
There is another pestilence, that is now sweeping through the county, and killing these majestic palms at a very rapid pace. They call it the Red Palm Weevil and you can learn about it on my blog page: https://andys-treeservice.com/death-of-phoenix-palms/

We pruned back some trees in Poway CA
These days we do a lot of tree pruning. It has always been an issue how trees tend to extend over houses and structures, and we have to prune them away. But in the past couple years, this whole thing has gone into overdrive.
I've noticed two words that customers mention over and over, especially lately, regarding the need to prune trees back. One is "fire" and the other is "insurance." Apparently the insurance companies are now going wild about the fire threat.
If you have trees close to structures of any kind, please get in touch with us, and we'll come out to give a free evaluation of your situation.

Palm tree trimming can accent a yard
Palm trees look best if they are trimmed regularly. It makes them look so much cleaner, like brightening up your yard. You can see that in this video.
And lately I've been hearing a lot of concerns from my customers about fire hazard, from palm tree fronds hanging down.
There are ways to make them look a little bit better than a normal trim, which you can also see in this video, and if you go here: https://andys-treeservice.com/palm-tree-trimming/, you can see some ways we do that on other varieties of palm trees.
