This month, we want you to meet Justin! Justin joined FBBC with his fiancé, Claire. They wanted to get in shape together and make healthier life choices. Since joining Justin has noticed increased energy and improved overall well-being.
His favorite thing about Fit Body Boot Camp is that you can just show up and get a workout done. We understand that being time efficient is important to our members along with ensuring that theyâre performing exercises safely! That is why we handle the programming, have certified coaches, and are dedicated to being the best 30 minutes of your day.
Justin recognizes the importance of prioritizing health and fitness throughout ALL of life and that is why he keeps showing up and working hard! He is choosing to do that hard work now to lower the risks of age-related diseases later.
His biggest challenge that he has overcome is taking action, showing up, and just doing it. âWe all know what we have to do between eating right and staying active. The difference is do it or not.â đ
A lot of our members, including Justin, start out with building consistency with their workouts and then begin tackling their nutrition. His future goal is getting to a lean and mean 15% body fat. His plan of attack? Dial in his nutrition.
Fun Facts about Justin:
đ„He was an army ranger.
đ§âđ«He was a kindergarten teacher.
đ„His favorite move is a dumbbell pullover! What a great move for the back muscles, the shoulders, and overall posture.
Thank you for being a valued member of Escanaba Fit Body Family, Justin! Keep up the great work! đȘ

Today, weâre shining the light on Ken who has been with us since we opened in 2023. He was wanting to be surrounded by like-minded people and find a gym that would hold him accountable. âMy goals were to simply get back into shape, lose weight, put on muscle, and meet new friends. I basically wanted a new lifestyle-out with the old, in with the new.â
Since Ken has joined, heâs experienced numerous changes!
Physically, he has gained strength, shed body fat, improved his mobility, has experienced greater stamina, better balance, more energy, and has even lowered his resting heart rate and blood pressure. When it comes to the mental, Ken has experienced a confidence boost, improved mental resilience, stress management, and better mental clarity.
What keeps Ken showing up and working hard? âI show up because itâs no longer about âgettingâ in shape, itâs about âstayingâ in shape, physically and mentally, for the life I want to live. The gym is my playground, my therapy, and my proof that consistency beats motivation every time.â
Heâs also recognized the importance of fitness as we age. âI know that by working out my body and mind, Iâm reducing my risk of âage-related cognitive declineâ which is a fear of mine. I definitely donât want to be a statistic. Iâve seen peers slow down with age and I refuse to let that be me. Every workout is a middle finger to Father Time.â
His tip for prioritizing his sessions? âSchedule workouts like meetings. Block them out on my phone calendar and protect that time. âWould I skip a doctorâs appointment?â I think of my workouts as preventative healthcare.â
While he has experienced MANY wins, Ken has also had a handful of challenges come his way. His biggest one being a traumatic brain injury back in 2023. Kenâs determination and resiliency during his recovery was outstanding. âFBBC gave me a sense of purpose when I had none. It put some kind of normalcy back into my life. Even though I felt I couldnât do much of any workout, I still tried, the coaches were amazing at keeping me motivated and safe by altering the workouts to suit me until I was given the all clear.â Heâs happy to report that heâs cleared to return back to work 1 year early!
Ken is a busy family man who understands the demands of life! âIâve had to accept that some weeks will be 100% on point; others, 50%. Thatâs life. When big responsibilities or must do obligations hit (caregiving, work crises), I shift to âmaintenance modeâ, sometimes itâs just 1, but try for 2-3 short, intense sessions a week to maintain my progress. â
For those who are just getting started on their journey, hereâs Kenâs advice:
- Consistency > intensity. Focus on showing up, even if itâs just 2-3 days a week at first. Progress happens in months, not days.
- Celebrate small wins like walking farther, lifting slightly heavier, or just feeling less winded.
- Avoid comparing yourself to others. Your journey is yours alone.
- Adjust when needed, thereâs no shame in knee push-ups or lighter weights.
- Recovery is part of the process and matters just as much as the workout.
- Nutrition fuels results - you canât outwork a bad diet. Focus on whole foods (protein, veggies, healthy fats) and donât deprive yourselfâbalance is key. A treat here and there keeps you sane.
Ken has a list of future goals, but his current goals are busting out some unassisted pull ups along with still working to shed some body fat. In the future he wants to deadlift 1.5x his bodyweight along with competing in a race!
To close out Kenâs amazing testimony, his last gold nugget of advice, âFitness should enhance life, not consume it. If one of your goals stops being fun, itâs time to pivot.â
Weâve been absolutely blessed to have Ken be a part of our Fit Fam and are looking forward to providing continued support as he keeps showing up and working towards his goals!
Gooooo Ken! đ

This month, we want to recognize our member, Sheryl!
Sheryl was already on her own weight-loss journey when she made the spur of the moment decision to join us last fall for our 6-week Ultimate Transformation Challenge. She joined with 3 of her friends and they became known as the âQuadPodâ. Theyâre all still here gettinâ after it too!
Sherylâs goal for the 6-weeks was just to survive! Little did she know that she was going to lose 14lbs (sheâs lost a total of 40lbs with us!) AND see her self-confidence bloom! đž
Like many people who start their journey at Fit Body Boot Camp, she was very anxious about starting. The thing that makes Fit Body Boot Camp different is our welcoming community.
âEveryone is positive and encouraging. There is no judgement. We work hard together, laugh together, and support each other. Itâs truly a family. The coaches push you just enough and challenge you to be your best self.â
Showing up has been her biggest challenge, however, sheâs recognized the power of fitness when it comes to her mental well-being!
âIâve made it a necessary part of my day. I started out committed to 3x/week, now I strive for 5. Itâs also where and how I release all the negative things life throws at me.â
Fun Fact: Sheryl has a degree in Professional Aviation and minored in Airway Science! She flies and teaches others how to fly airplanes! âïž How cool is that!?
Sherylâs future health and fitness goals are to participate in the MURPH again next year in 2026 and do pull-ups on the bar and lose another 40lbs. Sheâs committed to showing up for herself daily, doing her best, and having fun along the way!
Thatâs right - health and fitness doesnât have to be a miserable experience. You can work on a healthier you while enjoying the process. Her advice to anyone starting out on their fitness journey is to âjust show up - leave your fears at the door. No one is there to look at or gawk and judge you. Everyone is on their own journey.â đ
We canât wait to see your continued success, Sheryl!
We are blessed to know you and are so glad youâre a part of our Fit Fam!

đȘ A Buck a Burpee = $5,000 Raised! đ„
Our Fit Fam showed UP in the biggest way! For every dollar donated, our coaches did a burpeeâand letâs just say, they were feeling it. đ
Thanks to our incredible members at Marquette & Escanaba Fit Body Boot Camp, we raised nearly $2,500, and as a company, we matched itâbringing our total to $5,000 donated to the Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force. đ
This is what happens when fitness meets purpose. THANK YOU for showing what strength, sweat, and heart can do together. â€ïž

2 claps for Brenda! đđ
Brenda reached her 100 session milestone today AND has lost 50lbs! đ„ł
Brenda came to us with 3 of her best friends (who are also CRUSHING it) back in September for one of our 8-week challenges. She was consistent in attending 3-4 sessions a week, changed her eating habits, along with some other habits in her life. She trusted the process and trusted her coaches.
Brenda said something amazing this morning and it really hit home. She said, âWe think we are doing good by always taking care of others, but weâre really not.â
This is so true. You cannot pour from an empty cup. You are important too. Self-care is not selfish.
Take care of yourself. Move your body. Eat real food. Get your sleep. Stay hydrated. Have a positive mindset.
Itâs never too late to take your life in a completely different direction, you just have to start.
Congratulations on this amazing milestone, Brenda!

Progress is progress, no matter how small.
Make time this weekend to set yourself up for a successful week! Whether it's booking your sessions in advanced, getting ALL your laundry done (wash AND fold AND put it away), planning/prepping your meals for the week, or reflecting on last week and how you can make the upcoming week even better!
Your future self will thank you for the actions you take today.

This month, we want to recognize our member, Carole!
Carole was feeling complacent and wanted to make a lifestyle change. She walked through our doors in March â23 and she hasnât looked back since! Carole has recently celebrated her 200th session and has been extremely consistent when it comes to our Core 4 Habits.
âI've changed a huge part of my life since joining Fit Body Boot Camp. I've lost 30 pounds and completely changed my eating habits and diet. I love the challenging workouts and meeting new people. Everyone there is so positive. The trainers are down to earth and right by your side helping you to succeed. The more time that goes by the more I want to accomplish. It's just so addictive. I feel so energized!â
Carole has recognized that her health directly impacts her daily life and she doesnât want to be held back from any health complications.
âI'm retired. As I get older my health is my number one priority. If I don't get enough exercise and challenge my body, my life span can easily be shortened. Exercise and eating healthy has been my number one priority. I'm also planning to do a lot of traveling in the next few years. Iâm hoping to get to Ireland, England and quite a few places in the US like Montana and Colorado.â
When Carole isnât at Fit Body, she spends her time being socially active, strengthening her relationship with the Lord, and she is an organization guru!
Caroleâs future health and fitness goals are to lose another 15lbs and to continue getting stronger. Her advice to anyone who is wanting to get started on their health and fitness journey is to, âtake it slow and let your body adjust and change at a healthy rate.â đ
Great advice Carole!
We are proud to know her and she inspired all of us here at Escanaba FBBC.
Thank you for being a dedicated member, Carole!
