We're Hiring: Customer-Facing Prompt Engineer (Trainee)

OttoQa is building the future of AI-powered call center quality assurance. Behind the scenes, our prompts power everythingโand weโre looking for someone to help build and test them.
This is NOT a developer job.
Youโll be working closely with our product team to help design, test, and improve the prompts that drive our AI behavior. Youโll also speak directly with customers and translate real-world QA problems into clear logic for the AI to follow.
What youโll actually do:
Help write and improve prompts that score call center conversations
QA and test prompt output against customer expectations
Talk with clients to understand their needs and turn that into prompt structure
Spot inconsistencies, fix edge cases, and keep things tight
Youโd be a good fit if:
Youโre logical, detail-oriented, and good with patterns
You write clearly and think clearly (same thing, really)
You like fixing things that are โalmost rightโ
Youโre comfortable talking to customers (not salesโjust smart conversation)
Bonus if you:
Have experience in contact centers or QA
Have played with GPT-style AI tools
Are good at seeing how people might misuse or โtrickโ systems
Details:
Full-time role, starting on-site in Erie for the first 90 days (then remote)
We train youโno AI experience required
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
$18-$20 starting salary + benefits

So we are a little late posting here but we had a blast during Customer Service Week!
We decided to take things up a notch (or should we say, a "spud"?) with a Hot Potato contest. Our agents mashed up their creativity and dug deep into their artistic roots to showcase their potato prowess. ๐จ
From haute couture taters to spud superheroes, the competition was fierce and fry-tfully fun! We were truly amazed at the a-peel-ing designs and the sheer variety of potato personalities that emerged.
