Important beach nourishment is underway.

On Friday a beautiful new piece of public art was dedicated as part of Erie County Conservation District’s Hidden Creeks project. The piece commemorates the catastrophic Mill Creek flood as part of Erie’s history and encourages us to think about our community’s ongoing relationship with water resources. This installation is located outside Erie Insurance Arena, very near where the Mill Creek tube still carries water underneath our City. New!!! Dinner and a Movie Series at TREC kicks off on October 17. Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring dinner by Cali's West Catering and Flyway of Life documentary on the Big Green Screen.

Flyway of Life follows the remarkable journey of birds and the interconnected habitats that sustain them along the Atlantic Flyway. With stunning wildlife cinematography and inspiring stories of conservation in action, the film reveals how birds connect landscapes, ecosystems and communities across the Americas.

Following the film, representatives from our environmental partners will join us for a conversation about bird migration at Presque Isle, the habitats birds depend on and the conservation work happening throughout our region. Good news for today!

9/6, Update #2:

Presque Isle State Park will be partially open to visitors on Labor Day, September 7 at 8:00 AM. Open areas include:
• Beach 1
• Beach 6 (Lyons Beach)
• Beach 8 (Pettinato Beach)
• The Karl Boyes Multi-Purpose Recreational Trail

Lifeguards will be at beaches 1, 6, and 8 from 10:00 AM until 5:45 PM.

All concessions will be open except the Marina fuel dock due to power lines still being down in the area.

The Presque Isle Marina and Gas Dock, the Waterworks area near the Rotary Pavilion, the park’s picnic shelters, the other beaches, and the interior hiking trails remain closed as storm clean up continues. Areas closed to the public will be marked as closed. For visitor safety, please obey the closure signs.

The Tom Ridge Environmental Center and Erie Bluffs State Park remain open to visitors for the holiday.

TREC remains open normal hours, 8am - 4pm.
