Our BME students had the opportunity to showcase their research and present their projects at Celebrate Gannon.

Gannon Biomedical Engineering students, Gilbert Kamanya (Sophomore), Clair Rogillio (Senior), and Brianna Claxon (Senior) attended the 2026 Manufacturing PA Expo (Harrisburg, PA, March 27, 2026), where they presented their work and interacted with professionals from a wide range of manufacturing industries. The event provided students with valuable opportunities to communicate technical ideas, receive industry feedback, and explore real‑world applications of biomedical engineering.

“Our BME program highlight application research-based learning experience, which allowed our students to explore real biomedical manufacturing challenges while building confidence in professional communication,” said Dr. Larry Chen, who led the BME team to the Expo. This experience highlighted Gannon CEB’s strong emphasis on experiential learning and industry engagement.

Our Biomedical Engineering (BME) student Isaac Wheeler presented work on vibration reduction, acoustic isolation, and additive manufacturing design.

Congratulations to Dr. Ji on being awarded the Dr. and Mrs. Arthur William Phillips Charitable Trust Grant.

Faculty Achievement 🎉

We are excited to share that Dr. Longyan (Larry) Chen has been appointed Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy, serving for a three-year term from 2026–2029. This appointment recognizes his expertise and contributions to biomedical engineering research and professional service.

The first BME Christmas Poster Competition.🎄
18 students presented 11 course projects, showing creativity and hard work. It was a great chance for our BME students to practice their presentation skills.

Both Nardos Bisrat and Christian Johnson from Biomedical Engineering, presented their research at the Regional Science Consortium.

🎉Congratulations to Nardos Bisrat.
She won the1st Place Overall in Graduate Student Oral Presentations at the 21st Annual Research Symposium at Presque Isle.

The ASME Erie Chapter at Gannon University hosted an inspiring guest lecture, where Biomedical Engineering students and Mechanical Engineering students had the chance to connect, ask questions, and learn from experiences. It was such a joy to see former students return and share their journey.
