Wild baby bunny season is from March-September. E.A.R.S does not have a wildlife licence that is required to handle wild. We can not treat wild bunnies or their babies, please call a wildlife rehabilitator.

Most rabbits are bought on impulse at Easter as a present for a child. Children will lose interest in a few weeks. They are a 10 year commitment. They are the third most surrendered animal.
They need to be seen by a exotic veterinarian or veterinarian that has additional training in rabbits for a well check just like a cat or dog. Rabbits need to be spayed/neutered to prevent cancer and unwanted litters.

Monica put smiles on many children's faces yesterday during reading with a bunny at our Hop into Spring Fundraiser. Today she went to her forever home! We are so happy for her and her new family. We love our bunnies so much and it makes our hearts happy when they get adopted.

We would like to thank everyone that came to our Hop into Spring Fundraiser today. We are grateful for all of your support! π°πΈπ°πΌ

Erie Area Rabbit Shelter and Rescue
Erie Area Rabbit Society and Rescue began in 2013 when Ron and Linda realized there was not a shelter or rescue dedicated to rabbits. Rabbits are the third most adopted and surrendered pet in America so you would think they would be just as important as a dog and cat shelter but they are not. Most people do not even know the difference between domestic and wild rabbits.
When Linda and Ron began they only had a few bunnies that they had rescued but that number grew more and more as people became familiar with EARS. They moved to a new facility and continued to educate and grow. The purpose of EARS was to be care for bunnies and bunnies only.
EARS rescues bunnies who have been let loose outside and takes in surrenders from owners who can no longer care for their bunnies. We vet check all of the rabbits we take in and get them spay and neutered. Once they are cleared, they are eligible for adoption. Our adoption process includes home visits, vet references and approval from our adoption committee. We make sure our bunnies go to fur-ever homes.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so we receive no funding to help pay for medical costs, supplies, food, or staff to care for the bunnies. We rely solely on donations.
