🦆Our duck egg production is booming! We collect them daily, then hand wash each egg so they are ready to be used right away. Did you know that a single duck egg is nearly double the amount of protein than a chicken egg and higher in vitamins and minerals? Because of the higher protein and fat content they make richer, fluffier, and more moist baked goods and also more flavorful dishes. We just picked up 10 round hay bales for our sheep to tide them over until fake spring is over and our grass is tall enough for grazing. Hopefully we’ll have some bales left over for fall 🤞🏼 2 BCAI agents (barn cat agricultural inspection) are already hard at work, making sure the bales are rodent free.

We had a pretty bad storm out here recently. along with a few trees down, this (thankfully unoccupied) sheep shade shelter pulled out it’s 6 ground anchors, flew up into the air, traveled over a 150’ sideways, clearing 2, 8’ tall garden fences, and then smacked into the back of the ranch truck. Fortunately the shelter looks fixable. the ranch truck tailgate still wears its scars from a fight it foolishly picked with a tree a few years ago so no biggie there either.
