🌳 Meet the Tree Teams!🌳

This summer, our Arboriculture and Forestry Teams are hard at work caring for trees across Erie!

🌱The Arboriculture Team is harvesting fruit from local orchards for our Pay What You Can Markets, watering and mulching street trees, and scouting locations for new tree plantings this fall.

The Forestry Team is stewarding four tree-planting projects at public schools, including orchards, a tiny forest, and native tree plantings. Their work includes watering, pruning, and weeding while learning about the importance of native trees and the role fruit and nut trees play in local food sovereignty.🌿

🌻Meet the 4th Street Farm Team!🌻✌️

This summer, the 4th Street Farm Team will be planting a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, while maintaining the farm and compost piles. They’ll also be collecting and harvesting fresh produce and flowers for Pay What You Can Markets across the city, including the 4th street farm market, which they will manage throughout the summer.

This summer, the Water Team will be partnering with the Regional Science Consortium to test the water at Presque Isle, clean local creeks, and take part in hands-on environmental projects throughout the summer.🔬

This summer, our team is hard at work maintaining school gardens, harvesting fresh produce, weeding garden, beds, mowing and more! They’ll be working at 12 different schools this summer, helping grow fresh food and keep outdoor learning spaces looking their best.

Green team is back!💚We’re excited to welcome 25 new and returning team members for another amazing summer! Over the next 8 weeks, our team will be growing fresh food, caring for trees, testing water quality, and helping clean up Erie.

This summer is all about learning, making a difference, and building a stronger, greener community together. We can’t wait to see all the hard work, growth, and impact our team will make.

🌳 Join Us for a Community Tree Planting! One week from today! 🌳

Saturday, May 23rd, come help us grow a greener, healthier Erie! Volunteers of all ages are invited to join us for a community tree planting event as we work together to expand neighborhood tree canopy, beautify our city, and support cleaner air and water for future generations. 💚
Gloves, tools, and guidance will be provided, just bring sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and your community spirit!
