Frigid Queen Ice Cream was a franchise opportunity that began c. 1950.
Many of the franchisees used prefabricated portable diners manufactured in Wichita, Kansas by the Valentine Manufacturing Company. Sometime around 1953 or so the 1st Frigid Queen Ice Cream opened in Enid, Oklahoma & was located at 1110 North Grand. Phone No. AD 4-9247.
In 1960 our family purchased the Frigid Queen renaming it "Lenox Drive In" after the 1st year. Nearly everyone of our family at some point worked there until 1999 when our folks decided to sell it & retire. Felix & Nadine operated & built up the business nearly from scratch, at first putting many long hours in the early years & was the core of the operation for 39 years offering great food at a good price as well as employing & providing many young students their first job. Lenox Drive In is still in operation today under our name in the same original location & although I haven't been to visit with the new owners I've heard that they still carry on the great tradition of service & excellent food from others living in Enid.

We have another new sandwich at Lenox Drive-In. It's the Chicken Parmesan. And don't forget about our other new items that aren't on the menu yet. The Chicken Teriyaki, Fried Zucchini, and Cheesecake Chimichanga 😋

We've added something new, and they're soooo good. It's a Cheesecake Chimichanga, coated in cinnamon and sugar 😋

We have a new sandwich. It's chicken teriyaki. It has bell peppers/onions, and swiss cheese on a hoagie bun. And you can add anything else you'd like. And we now have marinara for the Mozzarella sticks 😋
