Oil painted a Kākāpō (an endangered flightless bird) that I'm pretty stoked about today.
I started off angry and ended up pretty pleased.

Stoked on how this 3 hour life portrait turned out.
I need to work on structure and values but I am seeing and feeling the improvements.

Took a few days of PTO so I could draw naked people for 9 hours on Fridays.
This was the 7PM-10PM uninstructed figure drawing where I opted for a portrait after drawing a figure all day.
Even though I'm finding myself already ripping parts of this apart mentally (the nose, the left eye...) I am stoked at where I am at compared to a year ago.
Thankful I decided to invest in myself and do the thing I have always loved my entire life.

With the return to reality and time starting tomorrow, I reminisced on 2025 today.
A year filled with friends new and old, art, adventures, and loved ones. I travelled the country, Remy tried to die on me twice, gained 100 lbs, hired a personal trainer, took a life changing art bootcamp, saw Halsey live twice, got a new tattoo and got diagnosed with ADHD. High and lows and all the in betweens.
2024 changed everything with my Dad’s passing. 2025 was a new challenge and a year of change. 2026 - come at me bitch.

Got her done with 35 minutes to spare.

day 4 - . Felt very uninspired by this one, went for an American alligator surveying the swamp.

Day 3 swerving in here at the last second, "Crown".
Drawn from a a blooming Saguro cactus. I was lucky enough to be there during their once a year bloom. Each flower lasts just 24 hours.
There used to be forests of these, now they are dying off from climate change. Bummer.

I have these 4x4 artist squares I'm planning on using for as much of the challenge as I do. My goal is to keep a running theme of tattoos/tattooed inspired designs.

My complaint today is I have so many art projects I want to do and study and so little time to do them.

RIP Dad. He would've hated the idea of his face on a tattoo. Especially with that look on his face. And a bow on his head.
