🌾 Macaroni, the Lonely Gentleman
There’s a horse down the road named Macaroni. I call him Mac or Mackie Boy! A sweet, golden soul with wonderful pasture space and shelter — but his companion died many years ago, so he lives out his life now with minimal daily connection.
Horses aren’t meant to live alone. They’re built for shared grazing, shared breath, shared comfort.
So I visit him. Others do too and sometimes other neighbors bring their horses by to visit with him. We offer scratches and presence, but it will never replace what he lost.
He remains gentle. He remains hopeful. He lifts his head every time someone walks by, just in case today brings company.
Here’s to the animals who wait for connection — and to the humans who care and who stop and truly see him for the beautiful boy he is. 🙏❤️🙏

🍈 Tree of the Week: Lime Edition
We cannot wait for more fresh limes! There are baby limes everywhere as we have many lime trees — and this is their cell‑expansion stage. Right now they’re firm, shiny, and busy building the juice sacs that give limes their tang.
Limes stay dark green until they’re fully grown, then lighten as sugars and acids balance. A little more heat, a little more time… and these tiny spheres will turn sunlight into that bright, zesty flavor we all love.

My goats and dogs wander together, choosing each other without knowing the world ranks them differently.
They don’t understand “pet” or “property.” They understand warmth. They understand safety. They understand family.
Watch them long enough, and the lines humans draw start to dissolve.
And in their companionship, you can see the world as God intended it to be. 🙏❤️🙏

Three years into her cancer journey & Daisy is unstoppable:  Daisy saw the tree. Daisy wanted the tree. Daisy absolutely did not reach the tree. But she gave it everything she had — & reminded me that my platform is apparently too close. More toddler proofing on the way!
 

Millie found the sun, found the sand, found a rock… and said, “Perfect. This is my bed now.”
Comfort is a mindset, apparently.
