Hope everyone is doing well. Im gonna get this page up and running again, since its been so long since ive done anything with it! What is happening in this mess we call our federal government, and that cheeto. Seems like theres not nearly enough oversight and checks/balances. Further, why are republicans/trump so fixated on undocumented immigrants, so much so that masked people within ICE, and other agencies are snatching people off the streets like a damn kidnapping?!

Undocumented immigrants are spending healthcare money mainly due to emergency room visits, which is often their last resort by the way. It’s illegal for any undocumented worker to use medicaid/medicaire, and ER visits account for just one percent of all Medicaid fiscal spending, which in 2023 was $900 billion.

What is wrong with this administration’s core values?!?!

My new slogan:

NO Kings, but YES to peons in this United States, of the people, by the people, and for the people! 🇺🇸🤨😤

P.S. my next post won’t be so political, i just had to get a bit off my chest 😉

Howdy y’all, just wanted to make a post since it’s been a while. A gratitude post, about how many of us take for granted the small things, like having a roof over your head, food in the fridge, or friends/family who can help give us that. If you have those or more, you have it better than 70-80% of the world. People complain about things that others around the world would be ecstatic to have.

Let’s all try to implement a little gratitude in our daily lives and, if possible, help someone who can’t find that or is struggling. If we all did just one daily random act of kindness this world would be infinitely better. It’s the small things that create happiness and high quality of life! Take care of yourselves, and maybe someone else if possible.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let’s make this year the best we can. Give more than you take, try to create more than you consume - within different areas of your life, and find those little, or big, things that add to and/or make your happiness, perhaps by doing the aforementioned 😊

I miss all of my San Diego peeps, it’s been way too long since I’ve seen, let alone talked to, many of you. I’ll be visiting this year for sure! 😎

Finally, check out this amazing graduation ceremony speech. These truly are words to live by.

Juneteenth and Social Equality 06/28/2020

Hello, my Innovative Introverts, Extroverts, and those with a bit of both! This post is a bit off-topic from the usual, but it means a lot to me. Juneteenth was last Friday, June 19th. One hundred fifty-seven years ago was a day of significant freedom and justice for African Americans. The Emancipation Proclamation (EP) was signed into law by Abraham Lincoln, effectively abolishing slavery and ending the Civil war. [ 1,808 more word ]

How Personality Traits and other Factors Influence Addiction 06/06/2020

Researchers have long been studying whether there’s a connection between personality traits and the risk of developing a substance use disorder. From a brain perspective, researchers are better prepared to develop different drug treatments when they understand the cause of substance use disorders (Personality and substance use). Recent research indicates that introverts, as well as those who are highly attracted to environmental rewards, with generally less positive feelings, have a higher chance of abusing drugs. The Tragic Facts on Drug Abuse in the United States 06/02/2020

When you find out the numbers behind current drug abuse/addiction in America, and other countries around the world, it boggles the mind. The above infographic is from 2017. In 2017, 240,000 people used prescriptions for recreational purposes for the first time. In every 19 min, someone died from an overdose of a prescription pain killer. That was just three years ago. Current Situation and Staying Healthy 06/02/2020

George Floyd (1973-2020) What a time to be alive! First, Rest In Peace George Floyd and my deepest condolences to his family and friends. His death has caused a global movement to hold police officers responsible/accountable and stop the incredibly disturbing and unnecessary killing of black men by police. Perhaps the protests and turmoil will be the spark to change the system and reduce institutional, systemic racism that’s so prevalent in the United States and other areas. [ 206 more words ]
