Even though this is the work I do and the way I serve my community, it doesn’t make me immune to heartbreak. Walking alongside families in moments of loss is something I carry deeply.

Recently, I had the honor of supporting parents who said goodbye to their incredibly beautiful baby boy. At their request, I learned some meaningful songs, including “Winter Bear.” As I practiced, I allowed myself to fully feel the weight of it all—the grief, the love, the unimaginable loss—so that when the day came, I could show up steady, present, and able to serve them with the care they deserved.

I didn’t hold back my tears in private, so I could hold space for them in public.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your baby boy’s service. It was truly an honor I will never forget. 🤍

One of the rare occasions I get to sing a memorial in the senior living facility where one lived before they passed. The words of her family, and friends in this beautiful space just melted my heart.

I try to be the first person to arrive whenever I can so I can setup before any guests come for the funeral service. This was a burial for a father who immigrated to America and also raised his son alone. There were stories of how welcoming this father was to the son’s friends, how well dressed, and a great businessman, but most of alll how much he loved his son, more than anything else. Thank you for allowing me to play for this burial service for your beloved dad.

Holidays are joyful for some, but for some it may be the first season without a dearly beloved one. This was the case for this incredible grandmother who had so much love for her family. Her goodbye was filled with love in the eyes and hearts of all those who knew her. Thank you for allowing me to provide funeral music for the service and burial gravesite ceremony.

It was an honor to provide music for such a meaningful funeral service. She truly lived life to the fullest, loved deeply, and shared a joy that was contagious to everyone around her. The ceremony was a beautiful tribute in a beautiful church, and I am grateful to have been entrusted with playing a part in this heartfelt memorial

Honored to play for this beloved grandmother and great grandmother. One of the songs requested was “my way” which shows the strength in personality for this beloved family member. Grateful to do this work to help families find comfort through music.

As a professional funeral singer, I try to be the first one there and the last one to leave. I try to prepare the songs as early as possible and learn new songs if requested.

For this funeral, I learned a Korean traditional hymn for funerals called “하늘 가는 밝은 길이”
(The Bright, Heavenly Way). It was an absolutely beautiful song and I consider it my blessing to get to learn.

This Korean woman, so loved and admired by her family, so strong and determined, laid incredible foundations for her children who would be first generation here in America. The service was held in one of the most beautiful places, Patriot’s Chapel at Forest Lawn Cypress, and was bilingual. I am so thankful to be witness to such special times for these families. Thank you God for calling me to this purpose.

Honored to have sang for this incredible husband, father, and grandfather. A life of faith and strength, his memory lives on through his family.

Honored to play at this veteran’s memorial… so beloved, son, father, brother and uncle. May his humble walk with the lord now be a rejoicing in heaven.
