Margie takes some of the best pics of the Ranch! It does help that she has a great birds eye view!

Fall has officially arrived and it’s game on for the home stretch of the hay season! This was one side of the Clover Field (all farm pastures have weird names, this one used to have tons of clover in it umpteenth years ago) all cut, raked, baled and stacked safely under the barn. Two more fields and we’re DONE! No one is more happy to see that coming than the teenagers I volun-tell to help get the hay out of the field and stack it in the barn. At least they get paid a bit and fed!
Wish us No Rain!

The Ranch played host to the Society for Creative Anachronism's event Agincourt II this past weekend, and a few of our horses and riders competed in the Baronial Equestrian Championship. It was a wonderful time, and the course we set up for it is staying up for use at the Ranch now

How has your winter been going? Ours is a mix of sunny and very cold to rainy and mud, with a few nice days in between.

Morning fog burning off over a chilly morning on the Ranch. We all can't wait for spring to finally get here and stay. Photo by Margie

Winter at the Ranch means surviving the ice to feed & water the critters and keep the place running. When Castor didn’t want to be caught Evie bribed him with grain and got a free ride back to the barn for her hard work. Let’s hope we’re at the end of this 5 degree cold snap nonsense!

Annie’s 2023 lamb KC is a carbon copy of her mom! Just got the test results back that all three of our Icelandic ewes are pregnant so we’ll see in the spring if Annie has more pretty white (technically spotted) babies like KC. Here’s hoping!

Very excited to continue the upgrades to the riding arena with a set of bleachers! A little tlc and they’ll be good as new (aka, kids out here painting, again!)
