News You Can Use: Alameda County residents can dispose of mattresses and household hazardous waste for free at the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday August 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition to mattresses, materials such as leftover paint, pesticides, old electronics and computers can all be disposed of for free during the event, which is sponsored by StopWaste, a public agency reducing waste in Alameda County.

If you miss this event and have mattresses to dispose of, you can use the Bulky Pickup service to dispose of mattresses, as well as other furniture and household items. All Oakland residents, including residents living in multi-family units, can schedule bulky pickup service at no additional cost. Please visit oaklandrecycles.com to take advantage of this program.

Check it out! I tried one of their pizzas the other night and it was very delicious. Not those flimsy flat bread things most new places make and call it artisanal. This is a hearty and delicious pizza; you won't want to miss out on all these flavors.
