The IALD Emerging Lighting Designer Initiative is now open for applications. Qualifying designers can apply for a fully sponsored registration to Enlighten Europe 2026, taking place 18 and 19 June in Paris.
If you are within your first seven years as a working lighting designer and have never attended an Enlighten conference, this is your chance to connect with peers, engage with manufacturers, and experience one of the profession's leading gatherings, with a free entry ticket.
Sponsored participants will receive a full conference registration and a place in the Lighting Cross Talk session, an opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow designers and manufacturer representatives.
Spaces are limited and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply through the IALD digital platform. Accepted applicants will be notified by email.

Ian Ritchie of ritchie*studio is our keynote speaker for IALD Enlighten Europe 2026.
Ian will take the stage with his presentation LIGHT: Stillness and Movement, and we could not think of a more fitting voice to open our gathering in Paris.
Ian's approach to light dissolves the boundaries between science, art and engineering, philosophy and technology. He explores both natural and artificial light as the first material of architecture, shaping and animating form, space, material and experience.
This is a keynote that promises to be as thought-provoking as it is beautiful.
