We're going back 20 years in our countdown to this year's international competition today as we relive the fun and frivolity of the "fish set" in 2006 in Indianapolis, where MVE won 5th place honors under the direction of Dr. Chris Peterson. Take a trip under the sea with the Greendalers in this iconic barbershop chorus performance!

In today's reflection on MVE's rich history of appearances on the international stage, we're going back 10 years to Nashville in 2016. Josh Umhoefer - baritone of the current Land O' Lakes District District Champion quartet Jukebox Quartet, who will also be competing in St. Louis in a few weeks - directed MVE from 2012 until 2017. In today's countdown to MVE's return to the international stage in St. Louis three weeks from today, we look back on our first international medalist performance in Portland in 2002. There's lots of "Easter eggs" you can glean here from our chapter's history, but perhaps chief among them is that all but one of the directors (our first director, Frank Marzocco) from our chapter's 37-year history are onstage in this performance:

A few days ago we revisited the first appearance of MVE at the international convention - today we're fast forwarding to our last appearance in Cleveland in 2024. We're proud of our history of "Storytelling Through Song" and the Badger Scouts had a ball preparing and performing "Gilligan's Hike!" for our fellow Barbershoppers.

The countdown to our performances in St. Louis has begun, so while barbershop is on our mind, we thought now would be a great time to pay homage to the fellow barbershop singers who have inspired us along the way. It's great to be a Greendaler!

This year marks the 21st time the Midwest Vocal Express will be taking the stage at the international chorus competition for the Barbershop Harmony Society. As we mark down the last few weeks before our return to the stage, please join us as we revisit our past performances.
