Happy Birthday, Gabriel!
Today, we are honored to celebrate Gabe’s birthday and the Gabriel Rissman Love Fund, established in partnership with Gabe’s family to ensure that families and loved ones remain at the heart of everything we do.
In honor of Gabe and his deep love of connection, the Gabriel Rissman Love Fund helps cover travel expenses for family members and friends who need to be there—physically and emotionally—for a loved one who is struggling. The fund also supports other meaningful forms of connection, including care packages, wellness checks, and other efforts that help families stay connected during difficult times.

Meet our new intern, Sonya Mistry, from Stevenson University. Sonya is studying Psychology and Criminal Justice and has said that she is grateful for the opportunity to help educate her community about both Narcan and the grief and support groups available through LITT! In her free time, she loves to play soccer, apply henna designs, and paint!

If graduation season feels complicated for you or your family, know that you’re not alone. Many families are navigating a mix of emotions during this time, and every feeling is valid.
At LITT, we see you and we’re here to support you through the celebrations, challenges, and everything in between.
We recently asked LITT leaders and volunteers one simple question:
Tell us why you are here?
Being here isn’t accidental.
It’s rooted in lived experience, love, and the belief that no one should walk this road alone.
Meet the people behind Love in the Trenches, hear Why they are here—and why Love in the Trenches exists. Olivia Welsh Harrell, Director of Sibling Support & Grief Groups

Maryland’s opioid overdose deaths have reached a 10-year low, declining 57% from their pandemic peak.
This progress reflects the impact of harm reduction, treatment access, naloxone distribution, fentanyl test strips, and the dedication of communities across our state.
