Fusing Appalachia

Looks like I am deploying for the Red Cross. I’ve got to figure out the dates, but the need is great. Probably going to have to call in a few favors so I can go…. If you see me calling this week, you’ve probably been tagged it!!! 😆

Hey everyone… I am looking for stencils, stamps and screenprints… for glass and pottery…. If you have extras I would love to have them!

Hi all! I hope you are having a great spring! We are busy here, and enjoying working outside again. We are also excited to announce we are putting the finishing touches on the pottery studio. We hope to be producing pottery again soon, after we have a few weeks of practice getting our muscle memory back and building up hand strength.
We are also starting the gardens and making some long overdue repairs on the house in addition to some renovations on the property.

Since we love to barter and we also believe strongly in reduce, reuse, recycle… so here are some things we are looking for this spring/summer. We would love to barter for any of this… or pay if you are selling, or just take it off your hands in the case of “your junk is our treasure”…. Other options are that we have fused glass art… pottery (soon)… Art classes…. Foraging/herbal medicine… homestead classes including: cheese making, soap from scratch, canning, baking and cooking from scratch etc…

Things we are looking for

Old garden hose… it’s ok if it leaks a bit

Old x-Large baskets

Buckets… any size… bonus if they have lids

Any pond fish tank supplies

Raised bed and gardening supplies

Driftwood for art projects

Working lawn tractor/mower or deck for our John Deer D-100

Ginko sapling

Paw-paw sapling

Plants of all kinds

Someone to work on our TERRAMITE T5C Loader Backhoe (or ATV).

I am sharing this here as well as my glass page. I am offering online individual instruction in glass fusing. Each 1 hour session will be focused on exactly what help you need. Especially questions on how to fire your kiln, what schedule to use, project setup, problem solving and more. I am not an expert in every area of fusing…. Therefore if I don’t feel confident that I can help you, I won’t waste your time and money. I have several online options available such as zoom, teams, and FactTime, as well as just sharing photos and voice phone calls. I will be charging $25 an hour. Send me a pm for more information.

Note: For all of the glassies I have been helping for free the past few years, I will continue to help without charge. I am just getting too many glassies, and my time in the studio is being affected. Happy fusing!!

Our Pottery studio will remain closed until further notice while we restore it to working order. If you want pottery, you need to get it before we run out. We only have two bowls left to fire, and then you have to wait until we figure out a new plan!

Our Glass Studio is running strong, though we are behind on creating new items. We have focused on trying to get the other studio repaired, and we apologize that our selection is more limited than usual. We are accepting requests, at the non-commission rates.

Friends…. There are two furbabies that need rehomed by Tuesday or they have to go to a shelter. An adult male orange cat named Scottie- male, 3 years he is nutered, does filps when chasing toys, and loves cuddles.
The other one is called Midge and is a female, 2 years she’s spayed and is super social. Loves everyone.
Both are litter trained. Neither are aloof personalities. Lets try to get these two rehomed…
