Updates on past and current students of the EACC Audio/Video Production class. It took many people to complete a production.
In the early days of film and video production people specialized in a specific job within the industry. Each production had writers, editors, audio technicians, camera operators, gaffers and producers to name a few. In today's high tech digital world productions have been stream lined. Our students results for SkillsUSA state championships are in.
Digital Cinema - 4th place
Video Production - 3rd place
Audio Production - 1st place.
Our first place Audio team will be heading to Nationals June 1st in Atlanta.

6 students from the program are in Indianapolis this weekend for the SkillsUSA Indiana Leadership and Skills Conference competing for state championships in Audio Production, Video Production, and Digital Cinema Production. Good luck competitors.

We have the results of our SkillsUSA regional competitions. We have 8 students advancing to State! 1 team in Video Production, 1 team for Digital Cinema, and 2 teams for Audio Production. Plus 1 student for Job Interview. Congratulations to our regional winners and good luck at State!
2nd-year student Cooper reports on the Potawatomi Zoo trip taken by the Audio/Video, Graphic Design, and Commercial Photography classes. He interviewed teachers and students to see why this opportunity is good for the classes.

Today was the Elkhart Area Career Centers annual Employability Skills Panels. Professionals in our fields came in to talk to students about the soft skills needed in our industries. Students enjoyed the chance to talk to the professionals and many felt they heard some important information. Thank you to all the professionals that donated their time today to all 30 EACC programs.
Right now in Audio/Video Production, 1st year students are working on their first video project: the Video Rodeo. Meanwhile, 2nd year students are making an updated video of the EACC website’s main video and class videos for the EACC website as well.
2nd year student Raiden Yoder interviewed Mr. Helbling and had him tell his story of how he went from student to teacher of the program and his plans for the future.

Recent 2nd year graduate Ben Reihl and his film "On This Land - The Impact Of Studebaker" has been chosen as an Official Selection of the 2025 River Bend Film Festival in downtown Goshen, Indiana. This is the 22nd year of the festival and it takes place August 28th, 29th & 30th (Labor Day Weekend!). Ben worked on this project for weeks in class, and it's exciting to see his hard work being recognized. Come to the festival to watch his film!

With competitions now over, the students get to relax and enjoy a nice dinner and sightsee around Atlanta. So proud of these students for all thier hard work, dedication, perseverance, leadership, and work ethic over the last 2 years. Tomorrow we will see where they finish in thier competitions.

Day two for SkillsUSA NLSC 2025. Both teams feel they did very well yesterday. They said they are very comfortable with the prompts they got because of the practices we did in class. Both competitions will be over by 1:30pm today. Then awards ceremony tomorrow night.
