As a realtor, I am constantly asked how I would advertise differently than other realtors. This question always threw me off because, in all honesty, most realtors do advertise in the same ways. However, one day, someone asked me this question and it left me thinking. I realized that while the answer was correct in saying that most realtors advertise the same, it was the question itself that was wrong. You see, advertising is just a small part of what realtors do. What truly separates me from other realtors is my knowledge and experience.

It didn't come to me at the time because the things I know are things that a person would assume all professionals in the trade know. But that's simply not the case. A large portion of my day is spent answering questions from other agents. Questions like, "Where is the property line?" or "What are the restrictions?" or "How old is the HVAC or windows?" or "What is this or that in a house?" or even "How do I work this lock?" These may seem like basic questions, but to a realtor, they are crucial in helping our clients make informed decisions.

I credit my extensive knowledge and experience to my 19 years of flipping houses, my 15 years of building houses, the 3 years I spent as a home inspector, and the past 10 years of being a realtor. It's not just about knowing how to sell a house, it's about knowing every aspect of it. From the foundation to the roof, I understand the ins and outs of a home. And this is what sets me apart from other realtors.

I remember when I first started out in this business, I was eager to learn everything I could about buying and selling homes. I spent countless hours studying and researching, and even more time on the field, gaining hands-on experience. I wanted to be the best at what I do, and I knew that meant going above and beyond.

My years spent flipping houses taught me how to see the potential in a property and how to make it shine. My experience building houses gave me a deep understanding of the construction process and what to look out for. My time as a home inspector taught me to pay attention to the smallest details and how to spot potential issues. And my years as a realtor have only added to my knowledge and expertise.

But what I have come to realize is that not all realtors have this kind of diverse background. Many may have only worked in one area of the real estate industry, and that limits their understanding of the entire process. This is why my colleagues often come to me for advice and guidance. I am always willing to share my knowledge and help them become better realtors.

So, when someone asks me how I would advertise differently than other realtors, I simply smile and tell them that my knowledge and experience are what truly sets me apart. Because at the end of the day, it's not just about selling a house, it's about helping people find their perfect home and making sure they are making the best investment for their future. And that is something that cannot be taught or advertised. It comes from years of dedication, hard work, and a true passion for real estate.
