Wow! It's been way too long since our last post and our after-school clubs. We hope you are all doing well as many of you wrap up an unprecedented school year with your children! We have taken a long hiatus from GO STEAM! but hope to offer after-school clubs again beginning next year.
In the meantime, if your child has any interest in learning Scratch, an online computer coding platform, our oldest son Owen is offering virtual classes this summer! With 6+ years of experience in Scratch and rates less than half that of most coding camps, your child will receive personalized one-on-one instruction, detailed lesson plans, and lots of time for questions!
Message here with any questions or email Owen at [email protected].

Summer is officially (almost) here! Our three kids finished up their schooling last week and I will finish up my first year back as an elementary school librarian this week.
We wanted to let you know after asking for your opinions and discussing multiple options we've decided to give GO STEAM! the summer off. As excited as we get about our summer workshops it's been tricky to plan and navigate this year. We also know many of you (and your children) are a bit worn out of Zoom meetings and remote learning. We understand that feeling. We'll be spending our summer like we did as kids - barefoot with chalk, bikes, sprinklers, kool-aid popsicles, and books under shady trees.
This July marks our 5 year GO STEAM! anniversary. We'll take this time to regroup and plan for what next school year will look like for us. We hope to see your kids next fall as we continue to power teamwork and creativity with STEAM!
We've been taking a break from posting here at GO STEAM! because we know how much life has changed these past few weeks for all of us. But now that we have adjusted to our "new normal" here we are wondering what can we provide for YOU during this time? Quick STEAM activities for kids? STEAM activity packs for porch pick up or local delivery? Or nothing at this time? As an educator and parent I waver between overwhelmed with schoolwork and activities and an EASY idea to keep the kids entertained for an hour or two while I am on Zoom meeting #12 for the week. Let us know what we can do for you!
