Built this 18x12 cutting board with a juice groove using thermally modified ash, maple, and mahogany. The contrast in these woods turned out 🔥—durable, rich in color, and made to last.
This one went to a great neighbor and even better friend for his birthday. Always means more when a piece like this stays close to home.

Built this solid spalted beech fireplace mantle for the house. This piece came from a spalted beech tree I rough milled about 8 years ago, and it’s pretty cool to finally bring it back to life.

I hand planed it down to its final dimensions and got it installed, and it fits perfectly with the other furniture pieces I’ve made for the space.

Next step is picking out the stone and finishing up the fireplace. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Just finished up this 13.5 x 24.5 framed American flag. Built with weathered wood to give it that rustic, time-worn look that really brings out the character of the grain.
I always enjoy making these flags because every piece of wood is different, which means no two flags ever turn out the same. The imperfections, texture, and weathered finish give each one its own story.
Proud to build pieces like this that represent something bigger than just wood and craftsmanship. 🇺🇸

I’ve been wanting to build one of these double pour overs for quite some time. While digging through my wood stock, I came across this incredible piece of Claro black walnut with some amazing figured grain and color. Pieces like this are always fun to work with because the wood really tells the story.
After finishing it up, this one quickly became my favorite pour over I’ve made yet. Sometimes a design just comes together the right way, and this was one of those builds.
Because of that, I think this design will officially be joining the Inspired by Life Design line of handcrafted coffee pour overs.
And the final approval test… the wife approves! ☕🪵

A day late but happy 250th Birthday to the United States Marine Corp!

Feeling incredibly honored, humbled, and grateful. ❤️

Earlier this year, I called Transplant Nation Magazine looking for information about the 2026 Transplant Games of America — which, coincidentally, will be held in my soon-to-be new home state of Colorado. I wanted to learn about signing up, the different classes, and what to expect as I gear up to compete in the 20K cycling event. It’ll be my first time racing a road bike, after years of BMX racing — and my first time back competing in about 12 years!

During that call, I spoke with a wonderful woman who asked if I was a donor or recipient. I told her I was a recipient, and she wanted to hear my story. What started as a quick call turned into a 45 min to 1 hr long conversation about my transplant journey. At the end, she said, “Your story would be perfect for our magazine.” I didn’t think much of it at the time — that was back in January or February.

Fast forward to about a month ago, I got an email asking if I’d be open to sharing my story. I was super excited and showed my wife right away. Soon after, I had a wonderful conversation with Kathy, an editor from Transplant Nation Magazine, who wanted to hear everything — from my transplant journey, to where I am now, to how I started Inspired by Life Design ,I sent over photos of my woodworking, my procedures, my family, and of course, my two boys — Guinness and Wyatt.

The final story turned out absolutely perfect, and I’m beyond excited to share it with all of you. I feel so blessed for where I am, where I’m going, and the amazing people around me — my incredible wife (my rock), my loving parents who never gave up on me, my sister and brother-in-law who will soon be my new neighbors, and a few good friends, both old and new, who mean the world to me.

This journey hasn’t been easy — but I wouldn’t change a thing.

✨ Big News ✨

Inspired by Life Design is heading west — to the beautiful state of Colorado! 🌄

In preparation for the move, I’ll be pausing orders after September 30th. Once the new shop is set up and running, I’ll be back to taking orders and creating again.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey so far — and to all my amazing customers who now own a piece of my work, I’m truly grateful. 🙏
