Delight in the Details.
This was a super small moment, but such a beautiful image by capturing the nuture and care that Pastor Obakeng has for his crops, and what they mean to him as a pastor and a teacher.

Roll with it.
We showed up in Khunotswane, South Africa and had planned on a beautiful sunrise and letting the sun drive our shots for the day. Instead, we got a rainy day and had to pivot to film in the rain, and indoors. It resulted in one of our favorite days of our whole trip. I'll be sharing a handful of images from our time with Pastor Obakeng this week, and his full video later this week.

Martha has an incredible story. This was a quick promo we did back at the beginning of the year to promote the Gala, where Martha's story premiered as a video shown to live scoring.. it was pretty cool.

Overwhelmed.
This was one of those images that seems like nothing until you get into editing / color grading. The concept for this project was to tell the story of how 4 pastors weathered the storm of Covid in their respective communities, and this shot ended up having so much emotion behind it, at least for me.

Orchard: Africa Series Promo
When parternships last a long time, we find that a trust and process develops that makes projects better. We've been partnering with for the last 8 years or so to make a yearly fundraising campaign. This was the second time they commisioned us to film with and O:A become one of our favorite international partners to date.

Filming on a rooftop in Khayelitsha isn't something that 2 white boys from Chicago should usually do. went above and beyond to help us capture these shots at sunrise, and to keep us safe and respectful of the community around us. Thanks to for sending us across the world to tell the stories of these 4 amazing pastors.

Did you know we do animation?
It's not something we advertise very often, but over the last 10 years we've always had a steady number of animation projects going on at the same time as our filmmaking and storytelling.

Covid Challenges were real.
This was one of my first indoor shoots since the start of the pandemic, and the number of extra precautions and concerns leading a team for 2 full days of filming was pretty exhausting. But the crew was awesome, and we had a blast filming and learning about how this delicious candy is made.
