This beautiful and sacred turtle shell was found by my grandson Ben while exploring near a creek in Elgin.
I’m a few stages from finishing it.
It will be our sacred rattle and will be used for our drum and flute sessions!
A bit of history relating to the turtle.
For some Indigenous peoples, Turtle Island refers to the continent of North America. The name comes from various Indigenous oral histories that tell stories of a turtle that carries the north American continent on its back.
