We need to engage more young voices in this movement to move our country forward. I’m a firm believer in developing our nations future leaders and helping to building a benches of people who can take the reins at all levels, (Business, Non-profits, government etc).

Everything needs to be done with intentionality and we all need to help identify and encourage young people to get engaged.

Why am I endorsing Junaid for Congress? Junaid supports:

—-Uplifting the working class and addressing affordability

—-Investing in a quality Education
—-Fighting back against Trump

The status quo has got to go. Junaid is definitely not the status quo and will be the kind of leader we need and demand to represent us in Washington as our next Congressman of the 8th District.

When I first entered public service, it was with a singular goal: to deliver for my community and make life better for the people of the 22nd District, who I’ve been lucky to call my neighbors for my entire life. Over the past eight years as State Senator, I’m proud to have stayed true to that mission – delivering real results and championing the working families of my district. As I think about the future and how I can continue to make the biggest impact, that goal remains my North Star.

After serious consideration and long conversations with my family, friends, and community – it’s become clear to me that the Illinois General Assembly is where I can continue to make the most meaningful difference in the lives of those around me. I have made the decision not to run for the open Congressional seat in IL-08, and I look forward to deepening my work in the State Senate and continuing delivering for the people of Illinois’ 22nd District.

I’d like to thank Congressman Krishnamoorthi for his service to our district. I’m humbled by the many people in our community who have reached out to encourage me to run. For now, I will be finishing the important legislative work we have to do in Springfield and considering next steps. Stay tuned! 😊
