Chef’s final Elgin bake😢😢 we’ve got puff pastry, croissants and the final batch of community bread! We’re in the cafe, the doors open, and we’ve got kitchen wares, decorations and more for sale!

The last brisket standing, chef was offering it but it’s gone now! Rest easy in our stomachs, corned beef!

While Arabica Cafe has closed, Chef and Diane are here packing up the cafe, and selling off small wares and other furniture items. We will be here today and tomorrow, but give the cafe a call if you want to be sure they’re around for you to purchase your last piece of Arabica Cafe.

Dear Elgin Community,

Arabica Cafe has closed permanently. Unfortunately the owner of this building has notified us via email that he has “no interest in extending or renewing the lease and that the current lease will end on June 1st”. That having been said, we had no option but to close and vacate this space.

Chef and I will be working this week to finalize the move so we will be in and out of the shop but not be open for service. Chef will be cooking the remaining inventory and making it available to the community at no charge. Feel free to stop by and pick up your final Arabica goodies.

To our Arabica customers, Elgin downtown community and beyond: I’m certain I speak for all Arabica Cafe staff, past and present when I say: Thank you all for being amazing, and for supporting Arabica Cafe through everything that has happened over the past 7 years. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to work alongside Chef and Diane as they created the place that made everyone feel happy and at home. We, along with all of you, are saddened and heartbroken to see Arabica Cafe close, especially given the circumstance. Thank you for the support and kindness you've shown us and Chef and Diane.

With our last day coming up much faster than we'd like to admit, we wanted to post an update on Chef's bread program (Don't worry, he's still making community bread this week!). So far, Chef has put over 30,000 loaves of delicious, homemade, bread into the hands of the community. Thank you everyone, for your support of Chef's bread program, and of Arabica Cafe the past 7 years! We look forward to seeing as many of you as we can this week/weekend!

Good (late) morning Elgin! With our last week approaching fast, we wanted to pass a few messages along to our wonderful customers. Firstly, with our closing date coming soon, we are beginning to pare down our inventory, so we may not have some items available anymore. Secondly, we wanted to extend our gratitude for everyone's continued support over the past 7 years, Arabica wouldn't have become what it is without the support of this wonderful community!

Spinach, tomato, chorizo and pepper jack tarts! The case is full, and we’ve got plenty of espresso to serve! Come see us, we’re here until 3pm!
