Summer break is here! ☀️
One thing we see a lot this time of year is constant snacking throughout the day, which means teeth are exposed to sugars and acids more often than most parents realize.
👩⚕️ A simple tip for parents:
Try keeping snacks to more structured times during the day and stick to water in between whenever possible! And don’t stress. It’s not about being perfect. Small habits and consistency make the biggest difference over time 🤍

“How do I brush my child’s teeth?” 🪥
This is one of the most common questions I get asked as a pediatric dentist, and honestly… you don’t have to do it perfectly to be doing a great job 🤍
Ideally, you want to brush for at least two minutes and make sure you’re getting all of those hard-to-reach areas, especially along the gum line and in the back teeth.
I also usually recommend flossing after brushing so a little bit of that toothpaste can get down in between the teeth too ✨
And between us… I know brushing your child’s teeth isn’t always easy. Some nights are smoother than others, and that’s completely normal.
The goal isn’t perfection, it’s consistency, support, and building healthy habits over time. We’re always here to help guide you and answer questions along the way 👩⚕️🤍
