⚽️💨 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥

Striking the ball with more power starts with your run up. I’m obsessed with the ability of players to weight a perfect separation touch to set up their shot. Alex does this phenomenally.

Think about the physics and motor mechanics about striking the ball with power… There are two elements of this that are often not focused on by players… The first is your run up and and second is your follow through. When you are outside practicing striking with power, I want you to focus on your set touch, and feel the power you generate in your legs with your approach, you should feel your muscles turning red!

A disciplined follow through is 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗟𝗬 under-coached! So many times I watch games and players strike a ball well, but steal power from their own shot by not following through at all, 𝗢𝗥 coming across the ball instead of going toward their intended target.
I could literally talk about striking for power for absolute hours, but I have tried to condense it into these slides, so have a look through.
