New City Church

In a world that moves fast, there’s something sacred about slowing down long enough to notice the quiet things. The evening light. The stillness. The way God cares for even the birds of the air — and how much more He cares for you.

Recent heavy rains washed out the kitchen at our mission partner, Happy Home Orphanage in Tanzania. Since then, meals for 25+ children have been cooked out of a bedroom.

Because of your generosity, that is going to change!
New City is helping fund the rebuilding of their kitchen—creating a safe, functional space to care for these kids every day.

Thank you, New City, for giving, and for being part of the good God is doing—both here and around the world.

Join us in prayer for Happy Home Orphanage- for the children who live there, and for Angela (pictured), who runs the home, as they begin to rebuild the kitchen.

We’re heading to Tijuana July 9–12, 2026 with Homes of Hope—and we’d love to have you come with us!

We just heard that there is a block of spaces available for New City families, and we are so excited!

Over the course of a few days, we’ll build homes for families in the colonias alongside an incredible, well-established team.

Better Together Marriage Class — This Sunday!

Our second Better Together gathering is happening this Sunday from 10:45am–12:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Our first one was a big hit, and we’d love for you to join us—whether you’ve been married for years or are newly engaged.

It’s a relaxed, meaningful time to invest in your relationship alongside other couples. Childcare is provided with an RSVP (link in stories, in the Friday Briefing, and on the website).

Easter at New City was a good day.

The music, the message, and a room full of joy and celebration—topped off with five baptisms reminding us of the new life we have in Christ. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Christ is Risen!

We’re also grateful to for the gorgeous flowers, for the coffee and pastries, and for the special photo booth. The link to download your Easter photos is in our stories!

Reflecting back on Holy Week- this Good Friday service provided an important and poignant moment for us to stop and reflect on the suffering, death, and burial of Jesus through music and communion.

We encourage you to take a quiet moment to yourself and revisit Tim and Laura Singer’s rendition of “Were you There” this week.

So encouraged to see mission partner Tom Sheck alongside New City student leaders and two of our incredible adult volunteers, leading FCA today at El Segundo High School.

This is what it looks like to show up—on students’ turf—with consistency, care, and the message of Jesus. Thanks to Julia for teaching today and for sharing Jesus with our students!

We’re thankful for the support of our church that makes this ministry possible, and for the best adult leaders around who give their time to invest in the next generation.

Palm Sunday snapshots!

What a day. Thank you to everyone who joined us to kick off Holy Week—worshiping together, waving palms, and celebrating the way of Jesus. It was full of joy, energy, and a reminder that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves.

Holy Week continues this Friday—join us for Open Sanctuary in the morning (7:30am - 12:00pm) and our evening Communion service (7:00pm) as we slow down, reflect, and remember together.
