Kjar, McKenna, & Stockalper wrapped up summer 2026 with the annual End of Summer Party! Attorneys and staff enjoyed some delicious tacos, casino games, and a fun photobooth as KMS celebrated the summer before welcoming fall!

Up next is the Holiday Party in December!

KMS Partners Molshree Gupta and Chaena Dade joined members of the legal community at the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Federal Court Symposium last night in Downtown LA!

The evening brought together federal practitioners and members of the federal judiciary for panel discussions regarding trial practice in federal courts, introduction of recently appointed trial judges, and the benefits of the Central District’s Magistrate Judge Opt-Out Program.

For the month of September, KMS is highlighting Chaena Dade! 🌟

This month, Chaena secured a dismissal for a large public entity client at the demurrer stage, taking a novel approach to a recently enacted law with limited guidance on its application. Her approach paid off!

Chaena loves working at KMS for its mentorship, opportunities for growth, and the incredible colleagues she’s proud to call friends. Fun fact: Chaena is currently taking classes to learn to read, write, and speak Armenian!

KMS is proud of Chaena’s accomplishments and is excited to see her success grow!

This month, KMS is celebrating Gregory Emdee! ✨

After a five-day evidentiary hearing, Greg secured a complete victory for his client in a matter involving allegations of terroristic threats and legal malpractice.

One of the things Greg enjoys most about practicing at KMS is the opportunity to thrive in his preferred practice area. Legal malpractice matters allow him to draw on nearly every area of law while working alongside former colleagues and even adversaries.

And now for the fun fact… during undergrad, he raised pigs and grew a variety of crops! KMS is grateful to have Greg on the team!

Team Spyder is back!

KMS Partner Jim Kjar’s Team Spyder took the court again at the 2026 6-Man Volleyball Tournament in Manhattan Beach! The KMS team came out to cheer Captain Kjar and Team Spyder, followed by a reception at Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach to celebrate after the game.

Another great 6-Man in the books and KMS will be back next year ready to take the championship!

The event celebrated Judge Huey Cotton’s Judge of the Year Award and recognized the dedication, leadership, and service of our judiciary.
