Congratulations to Shane Ti for representing the university and the UTEP Metallurgical & Materials Engineering department with his hand-forged blade in the Bladesmithing Competition this year at The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) Annual Meeting and Exhibition in San Diego, CA

The attending students had an amazing experience where they had the opportunity to learn about the science behind the ancestral art of bladesmith, current research being done in the materials field, network with other students and professionals, and so much more!

We hope participating in the Bladesmithing Competition becomes a tradition in the department for following years, and we can't wait to see what next year's conference has to offer for our students!

Today student members of the Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering department welcomed prospective high schools students and their parents to introduce them to our exciting program on Orange and Blue Day.

We are doing the fundraising cookout after all and we want everyone who has the time to come by the breezeway to volunteer with distributing the burgers chips and drinks. Cleaning up is the most essential part, let's make the Breezeway look better than it did before the cookout! The flyer has all the information and please encourage all your friends to come and eat!

Dear MA members,

We will be participating as a team in Project MOVE on Feb. 28.
Our designated team is full, but you can still sign up individually and get volunteering points!
Note you will receive a free T-shirt & food! :D

The points you gather will be used to give you a discount on your graduation stole.
Active members will pay $20 while everyone else will pay $30 for graduation stoles.
You get a $10 discount as a thank you for helping us be an active chapter!
