Got a Commute? Turn Drive Time Into Me Time 🚗🌿

Your commute doesn’t have to be wasted time or stress time.

It can become a small reset between where you’ve been and where you’re going.

Try this:

🎧 Listen to something calming
Choose music, a podcast, an audiobook, or something that helps you feel grounded.

🫁 Practice longer exhales
At stoplights, take a slow inhale and make your exhale a little longer than your inhale.

🚫 Skip the angry-scroll energy
Avoid checking texts, emails, or stressful updates the second you park.

🙏 Use a simple gratitude prompt
Ask yourself:
What went well today?
What am I ready to let go of?
What do I want to bring into my evening?

🤍 Create a transition ritual
Before walking inside, pause for 30 seconds and tell your body:
The day is done. I’m safe to settle.

Your drive can be more than transportation.

It can be the bridge between stress and presence.

Monday: Back to Routines 🌿

4 after-work habits to help you decompress

Sometimes your body needs a little transition between “work mode” and “home mode.”

Try this when you get home:

👕 Change your clothes
Signal to your body that the workday is done.

☀️ Go outside
Get fresh air, natural light, and a nervous system reset.

🚶‍♀️ Do something physical
Take a walk, stretch, tidy up, water plants, or move your body gently.

📵 Limit screen time for 30 minutes
Give your brain space before jumping into scrolling, emails, or notifications.

You don’t have to overhaul your whole evening.

Just create a small buffer between the stress of the day and the way you want to feel at home. ✨

It’s Sunday: How to Start Journaling for Nervous System Regulation 🌿

Journaling doesn’t have to be deep, perfect, or time-consuming.

Sometimes it’s simply a way to let your body exhale.

Try this today:

🫁 What am I feeling right now?
Name it without judging it.

🌀 Where do I feel stress in my body?
Chest, stomach, jaw, shoulders, head?

📝 What has been weighing on me?
Let it out without trying to fix it.

🤍 What does my body need this week?
Rest, movement, better meals, boundaries, quiet?

✨ What is one small promise I can keep to myself?
Make it simple enough to follow through.

You don’t have to journal for an hour.

Start with 5 minutes.
One page.
A few honest sentences.

Your nervous system doesn’t need perfection.
It needs safety, consistency, and space to be heard.

How to Come Down After a Stressful Week 🌿

After a stressful week, your body may not instantly know how to relax.

You might feel wired, tired, irritated, overwhelmed, or like you can’t fully shut off.

That’s your nervous system asking for support — not more pressure.

Start simple:

🫁 Take a few slow breaths with a longer exhale
🚶‍♀️ Go for a gentle walk
💧 Hydrate with minerals
🥩 Eat a real meal with protein
🛁 Take a warm bath or shower
📵 Create a little space from your phone
🌙 Get to bed a little earlier
🙏 Do something that makes your body feel safe

You don’t have to “earn” rest.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is help your body come out of survival mode.

Slow down.
Breathe deeper.
Let your system settle. ✨

Self-trust isn’t rebuilt by doing everything perfectly.

It’s rebuilt by keeping small promises to yourself.

Maybe you’ve ignored your hunger.
Pushed through exhaustion.
Said yes when your body needed no.
Dismissed symptoms because you were “too busy.”
Or waited until your body got loud before you listened.

That doesn’t mean you failed.

It means your body has been asking for care.

Start small:

🫁 Pause before pushing through
🍽️ Eat when your body needs fuel
💧 Hydrate before you feel depleted
🌙 Rest without guilt
🚶‍♀️ Move gently, not as punishment
📝 Notice what your body is telling you
🤍 Practice saying, “My needs matter too”

Every time you listen, you rebuild trust.

Every time you respond with care, your body learns it doesn’t have to scream to be heard.

You don’t have to become a new person overnight.

You just have to start showing yourself:

I’m listening now. ✨

Rewriting the Story: “I’m Just Not a Healthy Person” 🌿

“I’m just not a healthy person.”

That story can feel true when you’re tired, bloated, inflamed, overwhelmed, or constantly starting over.

But what if it’s not that you’re unhealthy?

What if your body has just been under-supported?

What if you never learned how to build meals that stabilize blood sugar?
What if stress has been running the show?
What if your nervous system has been stuck in survival mode?
What if your digestion, sleep, minerals, protein, and daily rhythms need support?

Being healthy isn’t about being perfect.

It’s not about doing everything right.
It’s not about never eating sugar.
It’s not about living at the gym.
It’s not about having endless discipline.

Sometimes health begins with rewriting the story.

Instead of:
“I’m just not a healthy person.”

Try:
“I’m learning how to support my body.”

That shift matters.

Because your body is not the enemy.
It’s always communicating.
And with the right support, it can begin to feel safe, nourished, and steady again. ✨

Still struggling? Maybe an Emotion Code appointment to move out these old thoughts and patterns could help! Call us to find out 618-391-0605.

3 Reasons Your Smoothie Isn’t Keeping You Full 🥤

Smoothies can be a great option — but only if they’re built like a meal, not a snack.

1. Not enough protein 🥩
Fruit + almond milk isn’t enough to hold blood sugar steady. Add protein powder, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, collagen + another protein source, or h**p seeds.

2. Too much fruit, not enough balance 🍓
A smoothie loaded with fruit can spike blood sugar and leave you hungry soon after. Pair fruit with protein, fat, and fiber.

3. Missing healthy fat + fiber 🥑
Fat and fiber help slow digestion and keep you fuller longer. Try avocado, chia seeds, flaxseed, nut butter, or frozen cauliflower/zucchini.

A better smoothie formula:

🥩 Protein
🍓 Fruit
🥑 Healthy fat
🌱 Fiber
💧 Liquid

Your smoothie should work for you — not leave you starving an hour later. ✨

3 Common Signs Your Detox Pathways May Be Sluggish 🌿

Your body is always detoxing — but sometimes the pathways that help move things out need support.

1. Constipation or irregular bowel movements 💩
If you’re not eliminating daily, toxins and waste can recirculate instead of leaving the body.

2. Skin breakouts, rashes, or dull skin ✨
Your skin is a detox pathway too. When the body feels backed up, the skin may try to help release.

3. Feeling puffy, heavy, or inflamed 🌀
Sluggish lymph, poor hydration, and low movement can leave you feeling swollen, achy, or stuck.

Before pushing a cleanse, support the basics:

💧 Minerals + hydration
🚶‍♀️ Gentle movement
🥩 Adequate protein
🫁 Deep breathing
💩 Daily elimination
🌿 Nervous system support

Detox isn’t about forcing the body.
It’s about helping it feel safe enough to release. ✨

Wellness Shopping on a Budget: Do’s + Don’ts 🛒🌿

Wellness doesn’t have to mean buying every trendy powder, supplement, or “clean” product on the shelf.

Sometimes the most supportive choices are also the simplest.

DO:
✅ Buy whole foods first
✅ Prioritize protein
✅ Choose seasonal produce
✅ Keep frozen fruits + veggies on hand
✅ Read ingredients, not just labels
✅ Stock basics: eggs, rice, oats, beans, potatoes, meat, olive oil
✅ Spend money on what you’ll actually use

DON’T:
❌ Fall for every wellness trend
❌ Assume expensive means healthier
❌ Buy 10 supplements before fixing meals
❌ Let “organic” guilt run your budget
❌ Skip protein to afford fancy snacks
❌ Overcomplicate your pantry
❌ Forget that consistency beats perfection

Your body doesn’t need a cart full of trends.

It needs steady nourishment, simple ingredients, and habits you can actually repeat. ✨

I get asked all the time about detoxing and cleanses, etc. Here's why I always ask more questions. If you need help opening up your pathways, give us a call 618-391-0605.

Detoxing can become problematic when your body is trying to release… but your drainage pathways are struggling. 🌀

If your bowels, lymph, liver, kidneys, skin, and breath aren’t moving well, a harsh cleanse can make you feel worse — not better. 😵‍💫

Before you push detox, support drainage first:

💩 Daily bowel movements
💧 Hydration + minerals
🚶‍♀️ Gentle movement
🫁 Deep breathing
🔥 Sweating
🥩 Adequate protein
🌿 Nervous system support

Open the pathways first.
Then the body can do what it was designed to do. ✨
