As our community navigates this incredibly difficult time, please know that we are here to support you in every way we can.

Thanks to an outpouring of support from our staff, we have secured coverage for the centers this evening. Our goal is to ensure that friends and colleagues of our fallen heroes have the opportunity to attend the vigil at Chapel 1 from 1630 to 1730, while still having the time they need to process their thoughts and emotions before reuniting with their children at pickup.

If you anticipate needing child care this evening, please call your respective center as soon as possible. This will allow our kitchen staff to ensure enough meals are prepared for the children. Please note that the Youth Center will not be providing meals this evening.

Additionally, if your family—or you know of a family—has been directly impacted and requires further childcare assistance, Family Child Care (FCC) providers are available to support extended care needs.

🌟 Join us in celebrating our 2025 Family Child Care (FCC) Provider of the Year, Ms. Matrina McCullough! 🌟

She is incredibly deserving of this award for the massive impact she has made on our community.

When Matrina—a military spouse and busy mother of three—arrived back at Edwards in 2021, she immediately noticed a critical gap: our and their families desperately needed more childcare options.

Instead of waiting for a fix, she took the initiative! Matrina stepped up as a trailblazer to revive the FCC program on base. Thanks to her advocacy, military spouses living in base housing are once again authorized to run official, paid childcare businesses right from their homes, providing essential support to both and civilian families. 🏡🧸

Her dedication doesn't stop there. Today, Matrina is actively guiding and training fellow spouses across the installation so they can launch their own in-home childcare services. Her hard work and leadership are directly boosting the quality of life for so many in our community. ✈️💙
