Puget Paws is an established and well-loved private dog walking and pet sitting company that is seeking experienced Dog Walkers to add to our professional and dedicated staff.
Job: Mid Day Dog Walker
Days: Monday - Friday, some weekends & Holidays
Hours: 10:30 am - 4:00 pm
Pay rate: $16 per hour plus tips. After completion of training; additional pay on company observed holidays and mileage reimbursements.
Walks are for 1 or more dogs of the same household. No “group” dog walks. Walks are performed in the pets’ neighborhood or nearby leashed park.
Please note: This is strictly a part-time position. Trainees start with 2-4 walks per week, more hours available depending on performance. COVID-19 precautions required.
Caring for pets is great way to earn supplemental income along side another job and/or school. This position is rewarding!! You will be building trusting relationships with pets, helping your local community, working outside and getting exercise.
Service Areas: South Everett, Mukilteo, Lynnwood, Brier, Mountlake Terrace, Edmonds, Shoreline and Lake Forest Park
Requirements:
- You have a reliable, insured car (a pet-friendly car) and valid Washington State driver’s license.
- You are comfortable with driving on all major roads, highways and neighborhood streets.
- You absolutely LOVE, have patience and experience with dogs and cats (own or previously owned, volunteered at shelters and/or professional experience).
- You have concern for animal’s health, happiness and well-being.
- You have basic knowledge of dog and cat behaviors
- You are neat, tidy and respectful in client homes.
- You can work with us at least 6-12 months. The pets will want to develop a long-term relationship with you.
- You are available to work over at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s. (Don’t worry; you’ll be paid an additional holiday bonus and will be able to have holiday plans of your own.)
- You can pass a criminal / background check.
- You have a smartphone, respond to messages in a timely manner and check your email daily.
- You are at least 18 years of age or older.
- You have a High School Diploma or GED
- You can work independently, follow detailed instructions, and are able to follow company policies and protocols.
- You have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- You are a problem solver.
- You are available for the days, hours and locations listed above.
- You have experience or willing to learn how to administer medications to both dogs and cats.
- You feel comfortable walking at least 2 dogs at a time for long periods of time up and down hills (frequently at a fast pace) with all breeds both BIG and small dog in rain snow or shine.
- You are able to meet all the physical requirements: Stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, keeping balance while walking/caring for pets in outdoor and/or home environments, lifting pets up to 60 lbs ie off the ground/in and out of homes and vehicle.

When:
Mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends & holidays
Hours:
AM Visitor: Sunday - Saturday 8:00 am - 10:30 am
PM Visitor: Monday - Friday 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm Saturday - Sunday 4:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Overnight Sitter: Sunday - Saturday 12 hour stay between the hours of 7:00 pm - 9:00 am
Pay rate:
AM/PM Visitor: $16 per hour plus tips, after completion of training: additional pay on company observed holidays and mileage reimbursements.
Overnight Sitter: Commission plus tips
Services are provided in the pets home.
