Shimmery watercolors on black paper get a totally different result. Many people don't think they are actually watercolors at first glance. But they are! This is what aka Kathy Tuura does. Her fertile imagination and exuberant spirit loves to try new things! In fact, she paints with a credit card instead of a brush!

It was my dear friend Tara's birthday yesterday. Since I convinced her to get the amazing squash blossom necklace with the unusual malachite when we went to Santa Fe last year (where I also got my cool boots!), I made a malachite ring to go with it as a birthday gift. Happy Birthday, Tara!
