**FOUNDATIONS FIRST 🌿 | The 4 Macro Minerals**

Calcium. Magnesium. Sodium. Potassium.

These are four of the first minerals I’m paying attention to when I look at an HTMA.

But here’s what’s important:

**I don’t only look at them individually.**

I’m not simply looking for what’s “high” so we can lower it or what’s “low” so we can supplement it.

Minerals work together.

They interact. They influence one another. And their relationships can give us additional context about the overall mineral pattern we’re seeing.

For example, sodium by itself gives me information—but whether it’s high or low, what potassium is doing alongside it, and how it relates to magnesium can give me a much bigger picture of the stress patterns I’m seeing on an HTMA.

That’s why I’m looking at both the individual minerals AND how certain minerals relate to one another.

Four of the relationships I pay particular attention to are:

**Ca/Mg • Ca/K • Na/Mg • Na/K**

And that’s where we’re headed next. 👀

I’m going to walk you through these four ratios, what they mean within the HTMA framework I use, and why they can sometimes give us additional context beyond looking at one mineral by itself.

Because when it comes to minerals...

**More isn’t always better.**
**Low doesn’t always mean “take more.”**
**And one number never tells the whole story. 🌿**

FOUNDATIONS FIRST 🌿 | Supporting Your Nervous System

There are SO many “nervous system regulation” tools out there.

Breathing exercises. Cold plunges. Supplements. Devices. Meditation. The list goes on...

And while tools can absolutely be helpful, I think sometimes we overlook the most foundational things our bodies are asking for every single day.

☀️ Light
🥩 Nourishment
🌿 Nutrients + minerals
🚶‍♀️ Movement
🌙 Darkness + rest
🤍 Safe connection

Our nervous systems are constantly receiving information from both inside and outside of our bodies.

What time is it?

Is fuel available?

Am I under a demand right now?

Is it time to mobilize—or is it safe to shift toward rest, digestion and recovery?

And so much of nervous system support comes back to giving the body consistent, predictable signals that help it answer those questions.

It’s less about finding the perfect “hack” to make yourself calm...

and more about creating rhythms that support your body’s ability to respond AND recover.

And remember—we don’t have to do all of this perfectly. Start with one thing.

Maybe it’s getting outside first thing tomorrow morning.

Maybe it’s actually sitting down to eat lunch.

Maybe it’s taking a walk instead of scrolling.

Maybe it’s turning the screens off and dimming the lights tonight.

What is ONE consistent signal you could give your body today? 🌿

Ever heard the term “oxidative stress” and felt confused?
Let’s talk about it in a body-based way 👇

In Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), oxidative stress isn’t about damage — it’s about how fast or slow your body is running its engine.

Your body is constantly producing energy to keep you alive. That energy production naturally creates “byproducts” (wear-and-tear at the cellular level).
👉 When your body has enough minerals, rest, and support, it clears those byproducts well.
👉 When it doesn’t, they start to build up, and the system feels strained.

HTMA helps us see this by looking at mineral patterns and ratios that reflect:
• energy production
• adrenal and thyroid stress
• recovery capacity
• nervous system tone

Some bodies are running too fast (burning hot, anxious, inflamed, wired).
Some are running too slow (fatigued, sluggish, low motivation, poor recovery).
Neither is ideal.

✨ The goal isn’t fast or slow — it’s balanced.
A body that can speed up when needed… and truly rest when it’s time.

This is why mineral balancing isn’t about “replacing what’s low.”
It’s about helping the body use energy more efficiently, clear stress, and restore rhythm.

If you’ve felt tired but wired…
or exhausted but unable to rest…
your mineral patterns may be telling a story worth listening to.

🌿 Healing starts when we understand how the body is adapting — not just what hurts.

“Tally’s professionalism, attentiveness demonstrated and my overall improvement are amazing! I’ve been working with Tally on mineral balancing for about a year now and more recently added CranioSacral Therapy (CST). It’s been a blessing. When I first started working with her, I felt “off” and couldn’t quite put my finger on it. There were days when I didn’t know where the energy would come from to get through the day. I was wired but always tired. My body wasn’t responding to the usual things that used to help. Through the process, I’ve gained more clarity about what my body actually needs as I get older. I’ve started to feel more grounded and regulated from the inside out. The shifts didn’t happen overnight but they’ve been steady and encouraging. Altogether I have better energy, feel generally calm, and feel like I’m more in tune with what my body needs. I greatly appreciate Tally’s approach. She’s very caring and listens to what you’re saying to gain understanding to better help you. She explains things in ways that make sense. She diligently directs her care to your needs, both the physical and the emotional sides of healing. If you’re wanting a more personalized, gentle, root cause approach, this process is absolutely worth it. I don’t have any hesitations in recommending Tally and her services to anyone who wants to feel good again.” - Tracy G.

Have you ever walked through a season so heavy…
so life-altering…
that a part of you knew you would never return to who you were before?

Maybe it was a loss that cracked something open inside you…
a disappointment that left an imprint…
or a stretch of emotional or physical stress that asked far more of you than you had to give.

When you look back — five, ten, even twenty years —
is there a moment that feels like a dividing line?
A place where your energy changed…
your resilience faded…
or your inner spark dimmed in a way you couldn’t explain?

A moment where life felt split into “before” and “after”…
and you’ve been learning how to live in the “after” ever since?

If so, you may have brushed up against burnout —
not the simple kind that rest can fix,
but the deeper kind that settles into the body
after stress has been carried for far too long.

And here’s something we don’t talk about enough:

Burnout isn’t reserved for high-achievers or visible leaders —
the executives, performers, community pillars who suddenly lose their momentum.
While burnout can appear more dramatic in people who run fast and live loudly,
the truth is that anyone can slip into it.

Even the quiet ones.
The steady ones.
The caregivers.
The ones with slower metabolisms or already-tired adrenals.
Their collapse may not look as sudden or as obvious,
but the weight of it…
the impact on their energy, clarity, and sense of self…
is just as real.

Burnout meets us all differently,
but its message is the same:
your body has carried too much,
for too long,
without the support it needed.

Drainage is the first step in healing.
Not detox. Not protocols. Not supplements. Drainage.

Your liver, lymph, bowels, kidneys, skin, and brain all work together to move out waste, hormones, toxins, and byproducts of stress.

When these pathways slow down, symptoms show up long before lab results do.

Opening drainage pathways is foundational for mineral balance, nervous system regulation, and whole-body healing. This is where I begin with every client.

Save this if you want to learn more about opening your drainage pathways.
