A SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK including isolated signifcant threat is possible today across eastern Oklahoma and Kansas, north to Iowa

Full blown storm chase mode will begin as early as 3 pm, with my gut wanting to target eastern Kansas but may work eastern Oklahoma. The environment for tornadoes really blossoms starting around 5-6 pm across eastern KS south through eastern OK. I would not be surprised if this is more of a night event again, but supercell and tornado potential could begin as early as 3 pm with any clusters of supercells that form.

The trough geometry is not the most favorable for a large-scale tornado outbreak today, but it’s high amplitude results in a strong low-level jet across a large warm sector. Torrnadoes are possible from Dallas to Milwaukee.
