Environmental Stewards we need you!
The Edison Township Environmental Commission is looking for Environmental Stewards interested in helping with pollinator gardens and rain gardens throughout Edison.
You will learn a lot about pollinator and rain gardens while giving service hours to your community.

⏰ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM-planting.
Volunteers will assist with planting and supporting local pollinator habitats and green infrastructure projects.

This is a much needed Clean near John Marshall Elementary School.
On May 24 from 9 am-12noon
-Students - you can get service hours
-We have gloves and pickers for you so come on out and enjoy the outdoors and explore your neighborhood.
-Wear sneakers please.
-No registration needed just show up at the event and look for the sign up table.
-Anyone can participate bring your friends.
-Bring your water bottles.

Rutgers Water Resource team is having another rain garden workshop on
April 28 at the Edison Main library more info on the flyer attached.
Learn about rain gardens and how to install one at the Edison Main Library on Tuesday, April 28 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Rutgers Cooperative Extension Water Resources and Green Infrastructure Champions will design custom rain gardens free of charge, provide an overview of material costs and discuss planting options.
Attending the workshop does not bind residents to install a rain garden.

🌍🌼🌱Earth Day Event #3 at Dwyer Park 4/19/26 🌱 the pollinator garden is done new shoots are coming out already and we planted a huge variety of seeds.
🌼🌱About 30 volunteers participated in this event, they learn a lot about NJ native plants, weeds and how to remove them.
🌿🌻Many thanks to the volunteers for their hard work today.

🌍Edison Earth Day Event #2 at Swales Park
🦋 Thank You, Volunteers! 🌱
👋 A big welcome to our Volunteer Coordinator Water Salvatore and Student Rep from EHS Jorich Saramba.
🤝 Thank you to all the groups: Edison Care, For Goodness Sake, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Troop 66 and others.
🚮 3 filled trash cans plus 18 bags of mixed trash were removed to make way for new life
🌻 Both garden beds were cleaned and planted today.
🌼Some of the species you will be seeing are cone flowers (Echinacea )golden rod, New England Aster, black eye Susan ( Rudbeckia ) lambs ear, inkberry, wild bergamot, milkweed, Shasta daisies and a bunch of other surprises like cosmos, marigolds, Mexican sunflowers and herbs like sage, thyme, rosemary, lavender and basil 🐝 🐛 🐞
🌱If you would like to donate/share a native plant that would be very special or maybe you have a suggestion we welcome your input. Please check out the work done today from the pictures.
