American Bresse chicks are 7 weeks old - looks like 4 or 5 roosters and 6 pr 7 hens. Had to move mama hen back to main flock since she didn’t want to stay with chicks after they were around 5 weeks old😅

We sold several does and buckling this past week which brings down our total goat count to 20! More manageable number that will allow room for possible 5 more calves by end of this year!

All 12 chicks are doing well. She is being a very protective and good mama. There’s another hen brooding as well (at least she is brooding on the nest box😅).

Happy birthday to Pepper! She was very first baby goat born on the farm! She turns 7 today.

Surprise this morning! (Apparently missing) hen showed up with 9 chicks! Not sure where she was brooding 😂

9 months old heifer, Mabel joined us Saturday. Other cows came over to check her out😁

First snake encounter this season - young copperhead in middle of one of the chicken coops - almost stepped on it😖 no wonder chickens were in hurry to leave the coop this morning.

Paddy boy and his mama, Dolly, have joined the others in the pasture!

Paddy boy (i guess that’s his name since he was born close to St Patrick’s Day 😅) got ear tagged!

50 cornish cross chicks have arrived for spring processing! Tentative butchering date: 2nd week of May!
