๐จ Important Notice for New Jersey Landlords & Tenants ๐จ
The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs has introduced a new requirement regarding flood hazards. Starting May 5, 2024, landlords are now obligated to provide notice about flood hazards to tenants before the signing or renewal of lease agreements. Both parties, landlords and tenants, are required to sign this notice.
Beginning March 20, 2024, every landlord must provide notice to prospective renters, including:
Whether the rental property is located in FEMAโs Special Flood Hazard Area or Moderate Flood Hazard Area and/or
actual knowledge that the rental premises or any portion of the rental premises, such as tenant parking spaces, etc., have been subjected to flooding.
Landlords, provide the proper disclosure forms provided by the State for your next lease signing or lease renewal.
