Kizzy W Minneapolis Show Review – May 9th

I was genuinely excited to attend the Kizzy W show in Minneapolis on May 9th, but unfortunately, the event did not live up to expectations. From the very start, there were red flags—ticket prices kept increasing as the event approached, which felt unfair and disorganized.

The venue itself left much to be desired. The restroom facilities were unclean and poorly maintained, creating an uncomfortable experience for attendees. To add to the frustration, drinks were extremely overpriced, making it difficult for guests to fully enjoy the evening without feeling taken advantage of.

The most disappointing part of the night, however, was the performance—or lack thereof. The sound quality was terrible, and it quickly became clear that there had been no rehearsal between the artist and the DJ. Kizzy W, visibly frustrated, ended the show prematurely without delivering the performance fans came to see.

Rumors circulating afterward suggest that the artist declined a scheduled sound check and mic test because he chose to remain in his hotel room with female companions instead. While these are unconfirmed, it reflects poorly on the professionalism expected from any artist, especially one representing Liberia on an international stage.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I’d rate this show a 2. Our artists from Liberia have incredible talent, but with that comes the responsibility to focus, rehearse, and respect their fans’ time and money. It's time to prioritize performance over pleasure .
